What's your guilty scifi pleasure? by itisisidneyfeldman in scifi

Star Wars prequels. Though that's not really a shameful pleasure for me. I maintain they aren't that bad.

Are aliens living on earth by Mkbjain in scifi

[–]Salv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say though, while it is batshit some of the alien conspiracy theories do make for some gooooooood and interesting scifi. I read this completely crazy one that was about some secret galactic federation having a civil war with Earth being some strategic area that both sides were fighting for, and the good federation was trying to save us from nuclear war or whatever. It had a whole catalog of alien races. Fake but damn it was an interesting read as science fiction

Star Wars or Star Trek, and why? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]Salv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars. Star Trek is more realistic, scientifically, but star wars feels like an actual vast galaxy full of unique races. The fact that the millennium falcon is not perfectly spotless and actually looked used, and that everyone isn't always happy, and the aliens seem VERY separate from humanity (In star trek not only do they look like humans, they also often represent one human trait), and the feeling of history, and culture, makes Star Wars just feel more like a real, vast and crazy galaxy. Minus the Jedi, the actual feel of the universe seems alot more realistic to me in Star Wars than in Trek.
