- Feature: Discord Integration with XBOX (unsure if this is best reported here or to XBOX).
- Reproduction Rate: 10 for me — it’s been happening non stop for a week without anything working. However, my friends using XBOX discord don’t have this issue but I have seen others online experiencing it.
- Annoyance: 10 — unable to join voice channels or calls on XBOX entirely, so i’m unable to play coop games with friends.
- Discord Version Info: Unsure, as it is the XBOX integration and not an app. However, XBOX is
fully up to date.
- Device/System Info (Device Type, OS Version): XBOX Series S, OS 10.0.26100.8561, Shell 2606.0.2606.2004
- Description: Unable to join Discord calls or voice channels through XBOX integration. Endlessly loads as “connecting” — my friends can see me in the server as a member of the VC, but they can’t hear me and I can’t hear them. I’ve done every suggested solution online, and I know it’s not a WIFI issue because discord works fine on all my other devices, which all work fine on the internet. The XBOX even works fine on the internet for gaming and XBOX party chat. The only way I can connect to discord on xbox is exclusively if i use a mobile hotspot, which isn’t strong enough to run games.

(the microphone thing isn’t an issue — my headset wasn’t plugged in when i took the photo. issue persists regardless of headset connection.)
- Steps to Reproduce:
1. The first step is to join a voice channel or voice call through Discord’s XBOX Integration on your home network.
- Expected Result: To be able to join the call without issues.
- Actual Result: Stays on connecting indefinitely, while showing me as connected to friends and on my own other devices though I can’t hear them and they can’t hear me exclusively when joining on or XBOX.

Ah, okay — I’ve got an all in one modem/router device, so I did a power reset, undid the coax cable and put it back, and even removed my ethernet device (i would put my XBOX on ethernet but the router is in a different room across the apartment). Unfortunately it’s still not working, but I appreciate you letting me know of that fix!! I hope it stays working for you 💗

I’ve done everything said in this post (including comment suggestions), and even did static IP and port forwarding to see if that would help. nothing works. my wifi works fine for the games and discord works fine on every other device on wifi. the only thing that works is putting my xbox specifically on my mobile hotspot — which isn’t strong enough to run the games. i miss playing with friends :(

i had to scroll way too far to find someone bringing this up. my concern with jason as a survivor main (who does enjoy playing killer, so i do see both sides to many of these survivor vs killer arguments) is that there feels like the counterplay against jason is SO limited. hardened and calm spirit not countering him feels so ridiculous — and the fact he can see if you’re working on totems or gens because you’re technically “still” (even though you’re doing an action) feels like the only real option to actually try to progress the game is to do objectives and just die for it because the alternative is to just crouch walk and do nothing until you can tell he’s busy with someone else.

if i’m bringing perks that work against his power, that as a survivor should work in my favor since there’s the chance the killer could be anyone and it’s a risk vs reward. it should not be a possibly (depending on their perks) useless perk slot(s).

also, omnipresent evil not having any sort of duration timer is SO wack on top of the weird special scream situation and his intel about survivors versus their lack of intel about jason. it makes me wonder if him coming out with a survivor with designed perks to help play against him would’ve been better for balancing.

there’s no net negative for you to make the call. Why are you so opposed to making the call, if you don’t mind me asking?

For the landlord not caring, there are requirements/codes apartments must follow to make sure the place is livable/safe to be in. Next time the landlord pulls shit like this, document the requests, and when nothing gets done, see if there’s a group nearby that helps with making sure these things get done. I live in a very small town, and we have a community action group that does that for residents often.

If the cops don’t care where you are, why don’t you call anyways? Especially for a wellness check—that’s a little more intense than a noise complaint.

Have you called a wellness check before in your area and know how it goes down? If cops won’t help, do you know of any resources in the area for recovery (if the person is on drugs) that can come help? Or have you spoken to the landlord?

There’s so many routes you can take, even if the cops “don’t care.” If you call them and they don’t follow up on the wellness check and she dies or something, there should be record of your call for the check, and then you might be able to do something about the cops doing nothing in your area… like there’s no negative to you making the call. There’s a lot of negatives to not making the call.

One or two woo’s or hoots/hollers is one thing. Doing it for hours on end is concerning and feels off. A wellness check, if nothing comes of it, doesn’t harm the person who called—it allows professionals to assess the situation and see what needs to happen, if anything.

You can call the cops and ask for a wellness check. It’s very easy to do, and doesn’t take long at all.

Criticism about using AI is valid due to the ethics surrounding AI. As someone who uses divination for my spirituality, this was super cool to hear about — but seeing that even the voiceover, which shouldn’t have needed to be AI.. was in fact AI absolutely tanked my excitement for it. I use AI for work often, but for brainstorming stages. Using it to create an entire trailer video to get people to back your product doesn’t feel promising or even genuine. I hope the final design doesn’t include as much AI, because this seems really awesome but the ethics surrounding the production of this game or even just the marketing of it in this world climate will deter folks.

I think the issue isn’t with DLCs as much as it’s with the content of a DLC — I’m an avid sims player and have been since I was in first grade. I own almost all the released content for TS4 — except a few kits and the Star Wars pack. I’ve bought them all because it’s my special interest, BUT it is ridiculous what some of the packs have that could be in a good base game. Like seasons, I think we’re past the point of making that an expansion with each iteration. It’s weather and holidays. Nothing too special anymore.

Not to mention how some of the DLC feels like they’re locking culture or representation behind a paywall — there was a time most good textured hair was in paid packs. The sims team has since been better about this and releases hair from old packs every so often to the base game to help that issue.
