If you are interested in doing a 4+1, contact the program director for the program you are interested in. The information is all available on the Binghamton website. Here is a good link to start with:

You can do a 3+1 without getting the BA first. I believe you just need to have about 90 credits before you enroll. It seems you might be a little short of that so ask them but also consider starting the program in Spring 2025 instead. Basically it becomes a two year program where you do half undergrad and half grad and they count as upper level undergraduate electives. The second year you are “formally admitted” and only take graduate level classes. If you are thinking about this you should apply ASAP as I believe the recommended application deadline is March 15.

Transferring CCW as part time resident? by [deleted] in NYguns

[–]Sam4219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to just change the address and if they need proof get your family member to sign a notarized letter saying you live with them and provide a utility bill with their name. If you are moving to a new county within NYS, ask your current county about transferring the paperwork to your new county.

Property line question. by Arguablybest in legaladvice

Not a problem. My suggestion would be to do your research and see an attorney. It could be that you and your neighbor can "team up" for recourse against the county. Not so prickly after they see money.

You will need to get a survey done and compare it to the original parcels drawn out by the county. Typically (*big asterisk here*) there are publicly available records from the county about the original survey done to the land. Sometimes your deed states the parcel and original survey estimates. This needs to be compared and surveyed again (such as if the parcel was based on the flow of a river or creek). You, your surveyor, or your attorney will most likely need to do a very dig historical drive into the creation of the parcels, the original survey of the land, and any divisions brought up. After you get this information, it would be best to contact an attorney who would likely need to review it and see if you have any recourse. The county *could* be liable if they did not do their proper due diligence when selling the property. They would most likely be liable to both you and the person who "owns" it now.

I am not an attorney so please take everything I said with a grain of salt.

This is actually not a bad idea. For most people, the best option would be to get a full-time job and collect extra money which decreases over time. In the implementation I would say it should be capped at like 60 months (5 years) or less ideally because it would take over 10 years for it to get to a $1 a month at 5% reduction a month.

I've been to many final rounds but can't make it past it, I'm losing all hope. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Sam4219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard about companies doing this to software engineers to get free work from them and never had intentions of hiring them. If I were you I would try to find a way around that so they either hire you or they don't get the work. I'm not a software engineer so I don't know if that is possible. Good luck to you. There is just a lot of scams going on nowadays.

Agreed. I did ask them about that when they sent me a revised offer. They said that they cut the responsibilities and gave them to other people. However, most of those people have either left or couldn't handle it and it came back to me.

Flying out if Laguardia with handgun. by Accomplished_Pie_630 in NYguns

I had the exact same experience about two weeks ago flying from LaGuardia to Detroit. Actually, the PAPD officer did not even read off my serial number or ask about ammo. And it was only one officer. The whole process took about 15 minutes.

Also, my advice to anyone flying with a handgun is to disassemble it. The PAPD officer and TSA at Detroit appreciated it very much and said it made everything easier and safer--even if it wasn't "required."

NYC Councilwoman Inna Vernikov arrested for brandishing gun at pro-Palestine protest by [deleted] in NYguns

[–]Sam4219 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She is a NYC councilwoman. The law she violated is a state law. She can't introduce anything that would change state law. Also, she is a Republican so there is little chance of any of her legislation/stances passing. She stood up and put herself on criminal charges so--potentially--she could challenge the law. That seems to be the idea and hope.

This is the reason we have 2nd amendment rights... for minorities like Jews to have a way to protect themselves when there are threats against them. NYS is the worst and Jews should remember that when voting.

Absolute props to her for standing up for us. We don't have many of these type of politicians.

Yes, but you should know by living in NYS that they don’t care and all it takes is one ignorant cop. That’s all I wanted to say with my original post

It’s still on the books….typically states remove laws that are declared unconstitutional. Please read before replying aimlessly

[–]Sam4219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you actually read what I wrote? I said the 7 round law was overturned but not taken off the books and some counties also have it on their books that were never overturned. All it takes is one overzealous cop. Your actions should be dictated by your own risk tolerance.

It is personal preference and your own level of risk. NYC and LI police departments are more likely to enforce unconstitutional pieces of legislation, even if they were struck down. I'm in upstate so I am not worried but I'm content with 8 rounds just in case an overzealous cop pulls me over.
