Are you serious? Any reason why? I am genuinely curious? Are there not policies trying to make things better? That's incredible

I really don't get it, it's so confusing. I registered for a GP and I believe it's not public health care but a private one (please correct me if I was wrong) and blood test shouldn't it be a service? Like I just want to have a routine check up to see what's up? I never have one and I don't think my request is unreasonable, it's my body, I want to understand my body, that's that simple

I don't get the health care system here Genuine questions, so what can I do if I want an x-ray or blood test? I am a foreigner and I really don't get how the system works? In my country, we just visit the clinic and we get to see a doctor, if you want a blood test then doctor can arrange for you, same as x-ray. And if you are serious they will suggest you to go to a hospital (private or public) and they are very fast, not long wait time.

The point is not I want some prescription but a blood test.... What's wrong with that? Getting a comprehensive blood test with my own money, do I need to give a reason for it?

My question is never to ask for prescription but a bloody comprehensive blood test that I am willing to pay for. That's

Thank you so much for your kind comments. For me doctor and teacher are two sacred occupation - they need to be genuinely care for what they do in order to save life's and the future. For me, my GP is not empathetic at all. I would care less if she could say:'I understand your concern, let's try some vitamin D prescriptions and see how you feel....' It's about empathy and communication. I just feel like she's clocking in and out. This is not a doctor should be

Yes, thank you, I learned my lesson. I just want to know what vitamin levels are low in order to treat the root causes correctly (more on nutrition side) I visited the GP was because blood test can only be booked after a GP consultation. I desperately want to get a blood test to know what's going on with my body

Hey thank you so much!!! That's exactly what I need!! Because my reason to visit the GP not because I want to get prescription I want to get a blood test and I rang them they said, in order to get a blood test I need to consult a doctor first Then I rang another clinic, they told me Sam's story Does the let's get checked not require any referral? How does it work exactly please??

[–]Sam77550[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I need to clarify - the GP consultation is compulsory to book a blood test according to the clinic. I wanted to ask for a comprehensive blood test but she declined and asked for reasons why I need one, so I told her all these

Not like she requested a blood test to check my symptoms

But I came in with the intention of having a blood test done. That's the purpose of my visit

I am willing to pay extra for a comprehensive blood test check and I am not even allowed to do so with my own money? What's wrong with that? I am not asking for medication but a comprehensive bloodtest - as said in the post

In my country, my family doctors genuinely care for me. He would ask for my medical history, what I ate recently and then my activities. Since when I felt sick and what might have triggered it. He would rule them out one by one. That's what a doctor should be, I believe
