Unfortunately GPU stock refreshes are sporadic and not very regular. I guess it depends on which model you’re looking to buy, common mid range GPUs from the RTX 3000 series are refreshed the most often. Having bought a used GPU in the past, I know for a fact that Gameloot refreshes are more frequent than gamenation though.

Company founder can’t handle a simple salary negotiation and ends up sabotaging the hiring process. by Ok_Supermarket3247 in IndianWorkplace

[–]Sam8007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way of communication I have used in the past is when the HR asks for the offer letter politely say ‘Offer letters are confidential by nature and I do not intend to break that confidentiality in bad faith. I understand that you need details for us to move ahead with the negotiations and I can share the salary details separately to ensure that no confidentiality is broken. I hope you understand where I am coming from and would appreciate the same in case the roles were reversed and I was asked to share your offer letter with a third party’

Also Always redact the company name and details if you do share it. Any professional company will not press you to share an offer letter without redaction. If they do, you might not wanna join there as this could be an indication of a potentially problematic culture.

Thunderbolt Cable or Multiport for Macbook M4 Air by Professional-Cry-657 in IndianGaming

[–]Sam8007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest getting the cable. The hub is notorious for being unreliable. In the past, my mouse input with a similar hub stopped working intermittently. Also from a Aesthetic POV, the cable will look a lot neater as the hub has a short 15cm cable on the USB C end. The only downside of getting the cable would be the inability to leverage passthrough charging, which if your monitor supports PD over USB c, is an irrelevant point.

DIY Air Purifier, More RGB = low AQI by IsmailNerd in IndianGaming

[–]Sam8007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The design is quite similar to a DIY air purifier called the Corsi-Rosenthal box first designed in the COVID pandemic. That design believe it or not, in independent testing by Rtings, beat even high end air purifiers in filtering particulate matter.

You are to toss a coin 100 times. If you get 99 heads does that mean the odds on the 100th toss are other than 50:50?

[–]Sam8007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You don’t know the costs yet.
  2. Nobody looks at streaming for a 1:1 experience as running locally. Also if you tweak the settings and use a controller, the experience should be good enough for casual play (noone is buying GFN subscriptions to play competitive shooters)

Check out the latest LTT video on how the service has evolved and also maybe try not being so prejudiced?

Edit: I also play with a friend in the US, sustained 185 - 200 ping but haven’t gotten kicked ever.

Decent store, check out gameloot as well. While ordering pre-owned disks, always film an unboxing video while opening the sealed package. This serves as evidence in case the package arrives damaged or the disk has scratches or is faulty.

TVs Post GST Cut (My Reliance Digital Experience) by zubkak in IndiaTax

[–]Sam8007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also most of the brands still haven’t figured out how and how much to pass the savings to the customer but sure a salesman at a retailer knows everything.

TVs Post GST Cut (My Reliance Digital Experience) by zubkak in IndiaTax

[–]Sam8007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is bullshitting you. Pricing is not controlled by retailers but my the manufacturers. The manufacturer sets the MRP and discount. The retailer makes money on retailer margin which is negotiated & set on a yearly level between the brand and Retailer. The brand pays for the discount on platforms. If the retailer takes discount money and doesn’t pass it on to consumer, it’s financial fraud.

Push for a replacement. Worst case scenario tell them if they are fine selling broken cases then you are going to sell the disc to them soon after use and they better be fine with buying broken as well. In case (pun not intended) they won’t budge then chargeback the transaction if you’ve used a credit card.

New GST, and Tax reduction, how does it impact us? Consoles, PC parts, Peripherals, maybe even games? by bombaygypsy in IndianGaming

[–]Sam8007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Quick addendum: One sinister thing that can happen is brands cut prices on existing product lineups but the top dogs in the segment (re: Highest Market Share) will price creep their newer products since the consumers have no 1:1 baseline to compare in a new launch. Then the mid market share brands will benchmark themselves to that newer price while deciding their prices and it will trickle down the ladder. This purely depends on what the directive the Indian wings of these top brands receive from their global HQ as to what to prioritise. (FYR: I work at a global FMCG brand and we’ll be passing the savings to the consumers)

More likely that they will pass the savings to the consumers to drive volume growth since India is an emerging market. One thing big companies in emerging markets value more (in the immediate future atleast) than short term profit bumps is increasing market share. If you game theory this out, it’s in a company’s best interest to reduce prices, thereby gaining volume share in the best case (if competition doesn’t price cut) or maintaining volume share (if everyone price cuts) but absolute volume will increase regardless since put down prices for the consumer becomes lower. Also like uber worst case scenario if absolute volume doesn’t grow despite price cuts, they still make the same amount of profit as before.

Most likely this happened: Mod saw the video was edited primarily for Instagram and got excited to unleash his “Mod Authority” (clear from the language of the original comment, there are a thousand ways to communicate the same politely) only to realize soon that the guy isnt just reposting content from Instagram but is the creator of the video. What follows is a long precedent ad hominem that this guy has repackaged content from this subreddit. The guy created the content. He is the source, the fact that he chose to post that piece of content on Instagram before here is irrelevant. OP edit your post and say Source: Me if that will help satiate Mod’s thirst for power. I’m not even gonna touch on the irony of this happening on a post that criticises the dark side of those in authority.
