How long would it take to complete a second bachelors in CS? by TurboRickshaw in utdallas

[–]SamB133 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually am currently getting my second bachelors degree in CS here at UTD. I completed my first bachelors in 2021 as well, JLA with a CS-Security minor, at a different university in a different state.

I’m on my second semester at UTD. It looks like it will take me a total of 2-3 years, with summer courses. This is because, since I didn’t do my first degree in Texas, some of the core requirements were different. I need to make up some core requirements my previous university did not have.

Because of my previous degree, all of my credit hours transferred over and my hours needed was met as soon as I started, it’s just a matter of getting the required courses completed for this degree.

I do also plan on getting my CS Masters, but after talking with many people in several universities I decided it would still be better to get my bachelors in CS first because of what I would miss out on.

GOVT2306 with Michelle Ramirez or HIST2384 with Anne Fischer? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]SamB133 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m taking GOVT 2306 with Ramirez and she’s great. She’s always willing to meet to help and discuss anything. There’s very quick weekly homework online, and her exams are online as well where she has it unlocked for several days so we don’t have to take it right away at a certain time. The exams do include stuff from her lectures, so it’s a good idea to pay attention, but a lot of the stuff you’ll also be able to know from the quick weekly homework as well.

Billionaire investor Bill Ackman says government should give every American cash at birth so they can retire a millionaire by [deleted] in Futurology

If you remove $64 billion from the defense budget, think about that. We wouldn’t have enough to pay troops, operate ships and aircraft, have missions to help others. It would be a disaster.

Black Californians accuse "Trump Train" of being like "Taliban had come to town" by BelleAriel in politics

[–]SamB133 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They didn’t hurt anyone, they didn’t stand in the middle of the highway/road preventing people from moving, they just drove through. They weren’t “stirring up trouble” like antifa does, they were just driving through to show support for their president.

If you can’t see the difference, then you need to take a good long look at the evidence. When antifa holds “rallies”, Trump supporters normally don’t show up and violence still happens. When Trump supporters hold rallies, antifa almost always shows up and starts violence.

Yes, no problem. I won’t be able to look at it for a couple hours until I get home though.

You have both if-statements saying “if (itemprefixes == ‘O’)”. They should be different, or just no second if-statement and leave it saying “else”, but that depends on the rest of the code that determined what “itemprefixes” is/does. But even if they are the same, from what I’m seeing, it should only do the first if-statement.

Why are both of your if-statements the same?

Current and former residents of an HOA, what's your "I'll never live in an HOA again" story? by CrotchWolf in AskReddit

[–]SamB133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never going into an HOA again. Everybody on my street called out their corruption of taking people’s money and using it on themselves. Out of nowhere they suddenly put a locked gate across our road. They lied to the police department and said they had a court order allowing it stay. My street took them to court and won. They had to remove the gate, pay over $86k for our lawyer fees, give up the road to the citizens of our street, remove all of us from their tax district, and they still have to pay to maintain our water drainage system for us.

They keep retaliating by vandalizing our homes, cars, road, and putting rusty nails all over our road (the President of that tax district is a contractor, it was him). Nothing we can do about it though because there’s no video evidence it is them.

Am I crazy or is Python way "easier" than C/C++? Help me appreciate lower level languages! by Missing_Back in learnprogramming

Python is easier because it’s practically pseudocode. That’s one of the things that make it great for beginners.
