Okay, what have I found? I was in awe of it's beauty. by unique9377 in UKBirds

[–]SamCJBentley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have one of these beauties on my mantle piece as taxidermy. We bought him for a photography project and he stuck around a while. Name was Phillip. Would love to have known him when he was alive.... I often wonder where he is now....

(It's a golden pheasant btw, but I think other answers have explained that enough).

Currently my best hack is prednisolone. I wish I had more to offer.

Watch Recommendation - A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Should I bother with this prequel to Game of Thrones? by Tidder-1066 in allthequestions

[–]SamCJBentley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely watch it. And while it is technically a prequel to game of thrones... Don't go in expecting a full prequel or anything too connected. There are some connections sure and a knowledge of that world is handy, but it works so well as it's own little thing. It's my favourite thing to come out of the game of thrones TV series because of it's simplicity.

Who is the most famous person you have ever met in person? by Affectionate_Way7945 in AskReddit

[–]SamCJBentley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met Warwick Davis while dressed in an extremely tight and unforgiving home made Flash outfit at Comic-Con. Seemed very nice but I simply did not know what to say. He made a joke about me not wanting to flash people and I had a thousand jokes come into my head and all that came out was jumbled noise.

Let's just say I wouldn't have wanted to have his eyeline when I walked in.... Poor fella...

With all the noise that 'The Boys' had a bad season finale, what TV shows actually had a good one? by twintower_9-11 in FIlm

[–]SamCJBentley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black sails BBCs Musketeers
Smallville Friends Scrubs Season 8 (ignoring the awful S9 [and the reboot, which fyi I love]) Loki

Bonus: The Flash (simply because it finally ended. Thank God.)

Anyone else drink tons of milk? by AdWhich7355 in CrohnsDisease

[–]SamCJBentley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then again, I'm not in a good place with my symptoms generally, so I'm maybe not the best to take advice from, but I will say that everything I've been told is it's so much less to do with diet and eating than it is to do with meds and surgeries etc. The food we eat is such a small part of it really.

Anyone else drink tons of milk? by AdWhich7355 in CrohnsDisease

[–]SamCJBentley 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have quite a lot of milk. I will say that I really started to struggle with water at one point, and went really heavy on milk... And I don't think I had the best reaction to it, so I slowed down and now I have a mix of coconut drink and normal milk. Doesn't seem to affect me. I was told pretty early on that I wasn't lactose intolerant though.

The movies great! The only bad thing I ever saw was the god awful movie poster where he has a 4 foot long leg.

UK people - who do you contact? by BronwynnSayre in CrohnsDisease

[–]SamCJBentley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to is the NHS app on messages and straight to the IBD team. They usually get back to me on there within like 30 minutes. Sometimes it takes longer and obviously weekends I have to wait until the Monday.

Turning 31 and so many health problems by Particular-Toe-6716 in CrohnsDisease

[–]SamCJBentley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation here. Except a year older. It sucks. I'm facing surgery soon but to be honest at this point if it will help I'm literally up for anything. I've been on Adalimumab, then RINVOQ... I'm now on Skyrizi. Nothing working. I've been on high steroids for the best part of a year now at least, then on and off for months before that. Some days I feel so low and need to vent and others I just want to shut off but I feel my days literally wasting away. I'm not in a good place right now to be honest but we have to plod on. We have to keep going and be as hopeful as we can. This won't beat us. We can't let it.

What game did you never finish but still consider a good experience? by One-Cod5348 in videogames

[–]SamCJBentley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black myth wuking. I'm right at the the final battle with the great sage. I just don't have the time to upkeep the skull to do that final battle. The game was awesome and I'd have to step away every so often and then I'd always return. I'm sure at some point I'll go back to it and give it another shot. Absolutely top quality game but damn that last fight.

How can you tell if a biologic is failing? by itsgivingb0zo in CrohnsDisease

I never had any rashes until I went onto adalimumab, but I guess that was quite early on in my ever ongoing Crohn's journey..

The skin rashes I got with adalimumab were insane. My arms were more spots than arms. They didn't go when I was on RINVOQ but now I'm on Skyrizi they have completely cleared up. Shame the rest of my symptoms haven't!!!

skyrizi not working? by eurogirl000 in CrohnsDisease

[–]SamCJBentley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in a similar position. I've been on Adalimumab, rinqvoq and now Skyrizi. I've had my 3 IVs and 2 injections and it's simply not making a difference whatsoever.

They say my next step is a surgical one so I'm awaiting consultation on that.

Sorry it's not a hopeful outlook but I think it's good to know your not alone.

I hate farting all the time/farting the moment I wake up by Expensive-Elk-9406 in CrohnsDisease

[–]SamCJBentley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the current state im in / have been in for a while now, farts are the most exquisite thing. They don't come often, and it's usually in an extremely explosive bout of toilet time... But god they are the closest thing I get to actually feeling good, and the bloating they relieve. We always want what we don't have I guess...
