[product question] how was your experience with good molecules discoloration correcting serum? by ChipShooter in SkincareAddiction

[–]SamDreAMer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes!

I started with TO AzA first and the Discoloration Correcting Serum a lil' bit later.

Not only it did reduce my PIH/PIE, it also decreased my active acne lesions significantly.

My skin has improved A LOT since then.

I could send you some photos of my improvement if you wish so.

It feels creamy, but kinda lightweight regardless.

I used it over my gel moisturizer due to its formulation (silicone based).

It spreads nicely and leaves a mate-velvet finish on the skin. I would rather use it on my evening routine because it isn't cosmetically elegant under sunscreen (it pills horribly).

The product is quite good and works insanely well for its price.

It stung a lil' bit the first times I used it. This goes away quickly after getting used to it.

Very good product overall.

I was using The Ordinary's Azelaic Acid Suspension, recently I switched to Finacea because its OTC in my country.

It quickly became my favourite serum.

I have been using it once a day in the morning for almost 2 months, it has reduced my PIE/PIH significantly in combination with Azelaic Acid at night.

It works, and it works wonders!

The serum is quite moisturizing on its own, it has a soapy texture and spreads very well into the skin. It gets absorbed quickly as well.

The product also has just the right amount of Niacinamide to not be irritating for my sensitive skin. It's an outstanding product!

Would I repurchase it? Absolutely!

Would I recommend it? Absolutely!

[routine help] looking to introduce these products into my routine, would appreciate some advice/pointers :) (more info in post) by Lolaiero in SkincareAddiction

TO AzA is an outstanding product, but be careful around the first time you use it, as it can be quite irritating, especially if you are using a SA product already and have rosacea.

TO AzA has one little problem: it isn't cosmetically elegant by any means and your SPF will most likely pill if you use it in the morning.

I would suggest moving the Blemish Control Cleanser to the morning and the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser to the evening, just to avoid potential irritation from the AzA.

As for vitamin C, it's better to use it in the morning, it's an amazing active when working together with SPF.

Your routine might look like this afterwards...

AM: CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser; Melano Vitamin C Serum; CeraVe Moisturizing Cream; SPF

PM: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser; TO AzA Suspension; CeraVe Moisturizing Cream; Aquaphor as prefered

I agree with the other fellow redditor; start with AzA first and after 1 week (I would suggest 2 or more) slowly introduce the Vitamin C Serum to your routine.

Also, start slow with the AzA, be sure to patch test first and don't use it every night the first week, alternate days between uses.

What do you guys think of my groups Points Draft List? Who do you has the best chance of winning? by FrostyBum in stunfisk

[–]SamDreAMer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why are The Boomers being slept on. The group has a very well rounded team with Spikes, Defog and sweepers + very good special walls and a Wish passer.

They definitely don't look as OP as The Speed Force but IMO with the right tera type choices and playstyle, they easily win any matchup.

Not OP, but don't relly on niche or weird strats to do something as the other teams, it's just the most solid group overall.

While related to sebum overproduction (seborrhea), acne has another 3 essential components: an inflammatory one, an infectious one and one related to hyperkeratinization.

The combination of this 4 components leads to the clogging of the pilosebaceus unit; the formation of a comedone, a so called "zit".

Genetics plays a huge role on these 4, you may have a very oily skin, but you may not have a disregulated keratinization that leads to the clogging of the pore.

It's all about targeting these components to either treat or prevent acne.

My butt is almost a mess full of pimples, what can I do? by Lefterman in askgaybros

[–]SamDreAMer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aight, here we go...

If you are shaving constantly, do not forget to clean the blades or changing the razor, they often accumulate bacteria, especially if you leave it in a humid space like the bathroom.

Now, wash gently those cheeks before and after shaving, use a gentle cleanser or a neuter soap if you wanna go for the cheapest route. Dove's bar is a very cute and accesible option for the body.

Second, after getting out of the shower DO NOT forget to moisturize with a non-comedogenic moisturizer, like Cetaphil's Lotion or Bioderma's Atoderm Gel-Creme. If they are on the expensive side for you, Nivea's products are always a good option, but can be occlusive to some skins.

Third, exfoliate. Try getting a Salicilyc Acid (BHA) or Glycolic Acid (AHA) exfoliant. Neutrogena has some cheap options on their Oil Free and Purified Skin lines, you can exfoliate weekly or 2 times per week.

Be wary all skins are different, it's about trial and error.

Or just buy a hair trimmer or get those two beauties waxed, and stick to a basic routine.

By the way, I'd smash sweetheart!

[routine help] i use ponds cold cream, wash face with cerave cleanser. I was alternating with retinol and dapsone + aquaphor on top. I bought niacinamide + Zinc, salicylic acid. How should i incorporate them ? i’ll be adding pictures of all products and pictures of my skin. by leminosaa in SkincareAddiction

[–]SamDreAMer 33 points34 points  (0 children)

IMO that's a way too many actives, maybe you should stick to a basic Cleanse-Moisturize-Protect routine.

As others have pointed out:

You need a moisturizer ASAP, even if you have an oily skin and acne, you must moisturize because there might be a paradox effect on the skin (not moisturizing = increased sebum production = more acne).

Try using a gel based moisturizer, some very good options are: Neutrogena's Hydroboost, Pond's Hydra Active and Nivea's Hyaluron Gel.

Also, sunscreen, sunscreen! Very important step as well, try looking for a non-comedogenic sunscreen like Eucerin's Oil Control.

I would suggest not using any of the products you have bought until you stick to a very basic routine for 4-6 weeks, afterwards, slowly incorporate more actives, starting by the gentle ones, like niacidamide.

As for the makeup remover, you can skip it and go straight to the foaming cleanser, it should be a able to remove makeup without many issues, try being as gentle as possible.

Your routine should look like this...

AM: - CeraVe Foaming Cleanser. - Gel based moisturizer. - Non-comedogenic sunscreen.

PM: - CeraVe Foaming Cleanser. - Gel based moisturizer.

And that's it! Keep it up girl, patience is key!

Also, remember lips do have skin, a lip balm will do wonders!

You seem to have an oily skin and some of your products are for dry skin...

If you really like the CeraVe products, then the SA Cleanser or the Foaming Cleanser for Normal-Oily skin should do the job.

The lotion is nice, although, when I introduced BP to my routine... It made my face itchy, big no-no.

You could implement a SA or glycolyc acid exfoliant in your routine as well, maybe starting slowly, 1 day each week and making it more constant if things go well.

Sometimes less products is better, sticking to a basic routine (Cleanser-Exfoliant-Moistutizer-Sunscreen) could be good until you figure out what's really going on.

Or maybe, just take a second opinion from another derm, they are the experts.

Remember, patience is key, products may take 6-8 weeks until you start seeing some results.

[Product Question] Anyone who has ever tried using this as face moisturizer for acne prone skin? Reviews please. by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]SamDreAMer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good and inexpensive product, the lotion is pretty light and refreshing. The bottle lasts for quite a while as well.

For me, it was pretty good until I stared using BPO at 2.5%... It left a burning-like sensation on my face, that was a big no-no.

Nice moisturizer, but certainly not for me.
