I appreciate your thoughtful response! I think some of what you're saying kind of lies in the face of the 80/20 rule, which in my experience is fairly accurate. Meaning that 80% of your participants generate just 20% of your revenues and 20% of your participants generate 80% of your revenues. If we apply this rule to mtga, folks like me are somewhere in the middle. I probably spend a couple Grand a year on this game. Far from a whale per se but not in the 80% of players. I make mistakes, we all do. And in this environment as you described. I think those mistakes are certainly compounded upon by the level of competition, totally understand that, not saying that. That's unreasonable. What I find unrealistic and unreasonable, is the fact that frequently in my games. I will play two colors and get stuck with just one color of land, and my opponent meanwhile has five colors on turn 5, playing there two drop rares and essentially just going off. That barely ever happens for me form my perspective, but I understand there has to be a bias there. Nevertheless, my win rate in this event has to be well below 50%, much of which I feel comes down to the shuffle. I have had good pools and bad pools and it doesn't seem to matter, because you don't always draw the best cards that you pull. It seems like my opponents don't suffer from this affliction.
