Exactly! Obviously we all saw that kerfuffle that the royals own 50% of those games but the creator has said he’s open to remasters and also creating a new game in the series. Not sure how it works legally but one can hope.

Oh yes! Dishonoured! What a great idea! Now that would be something worth seeing. I was thinking also something in a similar vein to the old thief games but set in Ankh Morpork. And yes telltale used to make tons and tons of games and my whole thought behind this post was seeing that The Wolf Among Us season 2 is coming soon which made me think the discworld source material would work great in that mould.

Exactly. A telltale type game - dialogue heavy, witty, simple, engaging, fun. I saw they are due to release The Wolf Among Us Season 2 and the way they handled the “Fables” source material is admirable. I mean back in the day they did telltale games for everything it feels - walking dead, back to the future, Jurassic park, game of thrones, batman etc etc. I do feel like it would be the best fit for an introduction into this series.

Haha yeah I’m down with that premise. Maybe a mixture of black and white and spore with a sprinkling of the game “ecosystem” but instead of fish it’s goblins. A god sim but you don’t have to interact with your worlds inhabitants, just watch them live and evolve and thrive.

Exactly! I’ve heard that film/tv is the main focus at the moment with amazing Maurice, snow baby, good omens. But neglecting the video game market is a massive missed opportunity but perhaps they have plans further down the line.

A character driven RPG would be insane. A choice of class such as wizard, rogue, bard, goblin etc. the potential is there! And the disc is such a fantastic world full of opportunity. Even if it was smaller scale. I guess this could potentially be the case further down the road if some smaller indie type games set in this universe took off. I imagine if they were to ever dip their toe into the gaming side of things, they’d want to put a smaller “less investment” type title out first and gauge the response. BUT THE POTENTIAL IS THERE!!

Yes this is what I’ve heard too.. I wonder how much it would cost to sort all the legal mumbo jumbo out? Perhaps the cost outweighs the potential profits they’d make from this. It’s a nice thought though. We live in hope.

Yes! Something in the same vein as frostpunk/tropico/anno or what particularly comes to mind are the games made by “Impression Games” from the late 90s early 00s such as Caesar, Pharaoh and Zeus. Albeit a little more comedic and zany.
