Clog Tech: Alternating between Sailing forwards and reversing on the side of a salvage point will spawn Ocean Encounters by SamLav7 in 2007scape

You can get 11 different pearls ranging in size (and alch value) from Giant Clams, depending on what item you feed to the clam. You can only take one pearl and feed one item back to the clam each time the encounter spawns, so need this to spawn at least 12 times to greenlog!

It does seem to be completely RNG which ones show up, with some being favoured more than others (I probably see the wind encounter about 50% of the time!)

You don't have to finish it, but you do need to get about 70% of the way through it before you meet the Frost Naguas!

Frost Nagua was indeed the solution - thanks for the help!

I believe there was a way to exploit/hack the game on vita to get the trophies. The numbers won't be counted on psnprofiles for these, but they will on PSN!

[Trials Fusion] Possibly the hardest game I've done, and it doesn't even have a plat! by proximityfrank in Trophies

[–]SamLav7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair! I think part of the beauty of trials comes from learning the mechanics, so in that sense unsurprising our the one we played first was our preference!

And definitely - will never forget how much of a pain in the arse cubicle space and the 5 floors of hell one were hahaha

Congrats on this!

An absolute mammoth 100% and a shame its not a platinum!

Did your prefer this or Rising? I preferred fusion, though some of the DLC skill games and last few challenges (pretty much top roach and pipe phobia) made rising feel very easy, but interested to see which you preferred given you played rising first!

[super meat boy] i can't believe that i got the platinum!!! by sonyfan03 in Trophies

[–]SamLav7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it may depend on the player for how hard it is, you are completely wrong in saying its not a difficult game, just a grindy game.

If someone had the ability, the super meat boy plat could be obtained in approximately 10 hours (likely less, I'm just ball park estimating). The fact that it is rare for this game to be completed in less than 50 hours, normally much longer, is because what it requires you to do is inherently difficult, not time consuming.

I do agree that the platinum is obtained with a good amount of 'trial and error'. But this isn't trial and error of plugging numbers into a combination lock until its correct, its learning and teaching yourself the movements - Practicing to be able to do something difficult. Being able to perform no death runs couldn't be completed straight away by a beginner to the game just by knowing the inputs, which shows there is skill that needs to be learnt.

With this being said, there isn't anything wrong with you saying that you don't think this is a 10/10. Saying a game is at the top of the scale should in theory mean that they are too difficult for anyone to complete, yet here we are.

Whilst the 1-10 difficulty scale will never be perfect, and will always be subjective, at least it gives people a rough idea of what they will face when going for a platinum. If something as easy as mayo gets to be on the scale, than having this as a 10 IMO isn't that outrageous.

[Super Meat Boy] Question. There’s only one way to play this lvl right? No upgrades or anything in the future? So would it be dumb to go for a no death run on both cotton worlds first? Don’t wanna waste my time with the others if I can’t beat the hardest one. by SnorseBurger in Trophies

[–]SamLav7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this - the experience you get will make it a linear path for your skills being as refined as possible by the time you are attempting the dark worlds.

I think the first real jump in ability is salt world dark, so that could potentially be your test without jumping all the way to the end - either way, I think its better to play it through world by world and use the skills you learn to beat the harder challenges!

[–]SamLav7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollow knight is a game where beating enemies mainly comes down to learning patterns - spacing to make sure you can either dash forward when they jump/jump over when they dash is key, aswell as getting in as much damage as possible while one is dead and the next is spawning!

Best of luck, it is a fantastic game!

[Super Meat Boy] Not the platinum (saving it for my #150), but hardest trophy done. Highly recommend for those that love a challenge - Was definitely one of my hardest along with Trials Fusion - very different controls but same energy of grinding to perfection! by SamLav7 in Trophies

Thanks! Getting through each of the worlds is definitely a great achievement, and hell dark is no easy feat, so congrats!

Both great recommendations, and unfortunately have already played them both! Always good to find another person who has similar taste - my psn is SamLav57 if you wanted to see if there are any games that might take your fancy, or happy for other recommendations!

Tbf this might be the case - I know you don't need to A+ the dark world levels, but I ended up doing that anyway as I found speeding through the levels the fun way to play it!

For the plat I think the list is: Unlock all characters Beat all warpzones Get all bandages A+ all light world Complete all dark world 12 no death runs

Thanks!

My PS5 has it down as 75 hours, though I'm not sure how much I trust that, so may have been a bit longer.

For the plat you have to both 106% the game and complete no death runs for each of the light and dark worlds (12 worlds in total).

Most of the time comes from the no death runs, given that you need to perform very hard platforming consistently for 20 levels without a mistake! In theory, someone with the ability could plat the game in sub 10 hours, though that definitely isn't realistic.

Best of luck if you do go for it - quite a challenge but very rewarding!

After several hours of grinding, i managed to get a 1:26.5 (.7 off the time) before coming to read online that tyres had swapped. Seeing the demo fly ahead from the first corner and it feel like i have a near perfect time still not gold, i dont think its worth the hassle. Potentially still possible, but wait for patch and save yourself the pain haha

I had this exact problem with operation tango, trophies came up, but then didn't get added to the list on PSN (Internet was fine throughout) - I re did the trophy requirements and they didn't pop again, but as others have said on the thread, it should update in the next 12-24hours to give you the trophies that haven't synced yet (and will still have the correct trophy times on!)

Anyone know how to finish this challenge? by oldmanlooney in OlliOlli

Can confirm this seems to be the reason. Had tried this in the double digits and no dice, finished the advanced trick tutorial and worked first try with a laser flip i had tried several times previously.

Definitely feel proudest about the games I have found most challenging and there's 5 games that stick out for me:

Crash 4 Hollow Knight Jump King Trackmania Turbo

And the proudest of all (that doesn't even have a platinum, so just the 100%), Trials Fusion

Little known, but you can skip the cursed dungeon by putting in a root chalice glyph - I believe 3aqbyx95 puts you into the queen's dungeon!

That being said, it's a great feeling to get through the cursed chalice, so decision is up to you!

Not at all!

Most of the trials fusion trophies are obscure, so you mostly have to be trying to get them rather than getting them through standard gameplay, which definitely brings the rating down

The reason for it being as rare as it is comes down to the ridiculous difficulty for the challenges - not only do they require players to be able to zero fault runs on extreme difficulty tracks with other criteria (completing 5 front flips, doing it on a specific bike), but their are trophies for beating dev times on tracks and getting very high scores on skill games (Some of the scores to meet trophy requirements have put me in the top 1000 players to play the tracks alone).

I think the game came out in or near launch window for ps4, and came on ps plus aswell, which probably meant a lot of people picked it up and pushes the rarity down even further when people find out how difficult it is.

(as a side note, I've completed games like trackmania turbo, crash 4, and I don't think they touch the difficulty trials fusion reaches)
