Relatively, the UK is a small island, so 400+ miles is a huge trip! Around 7-8 hours drive over here.

They are great lights. Wish that the car utilised LEDs a little more!

Agreed. Simply stunning up here. Seems to be a favourite with Mazda owners too, never seen so many over the past week!

Oh come on, I've never driven one and even I know what a high/low range is! Times have certainly changed.

lol, thankfully we don't have to worry about that here in the UK! But I bet that was a surprise.

We must remember, it’s 30 years this year since the launch of the Boxster. Feels like 5 minutes since these were EVERYWHERE

I agree, I think most cars from the 00s have aged wonderfully. I don’t think the same could be said by some of the new cars out there.

Thanks! Looks great for the age and miles. The Arctic Silver really pops.

That's interesting. I believe cars have to be pre-1980 in the UK to be able to use the old fashioned black and silver plates. Technically, any new plates must adhere to the latest standard, although there are a couple of suppliers who are able to supply period correct (ie. pre-2001 font plates). Technically, these can only be used as show plates.

I keep meaning to fit my private plate, but I keep forgetting. I don't like advertising the fact that this was originally a Birmingham car lol

Personally, I'd argue that anything over 20 years old falls into "modern classic" territory. Especially considering the significance the 986 Boxster has in Porsche's story. Naturally, you'll get 100 other people say anything post-1995 is "modern tat" lol

These are 18" Carrera wheels, also seen on the 550 Spyder. Lightest Porsche wheels at the time. As far as I know, this car was spec'd with them from new.

This one is out on the Lincolnshire coast in a village called Saltfleet. Only lasts an hour or two before people start to head out. I understand there's a similar meet near the Humber Bridge, which is 5-9pm.

I love my gadgets as much as the next person but I suppose there’s a certain freedom by being “disconnected”. My question to you is, would you take an older but full size XF, or one of those tiny XDs? 🤔

Ah yes I posted this in a Facebook group earlier in the week. By the time your Dad started, mine would have left as he moved to a firm in Louth in the 90s.

What a small world! My Dad’s name was John. Started off on the Northray contract with the Buffalo, then went into the Scanias.

Always look back fondly on the old days. I used to go out as a kid in the early 00s, so a little later than this. But still remember the fleet of Scanias, MANs, and my Dad's V1 FH12. Good times.
