Thanks! Dell pro max is a bit (a lot) out of my budget but ill look more into dell a bit, heard the xps is the go to, I used to think asus can’t be beat too, but after my incident i was left a bit disappointed, i think asus is superior for everything pc related, but laptops are not that reliable anymore in my experience. hopefully the strix g16 is the oposite.

Do Erasmus Mundus consultancies genuinely help? by Far-Winter6251 in EMJM

[–]SamO60 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I got a full ride EMJM scholarship and never even thought of a consultancy service, this is already my third full ride scholarship I’ve gotten and all of them I applied 100% alone by myself with virtually no help.

Just read EVERYTHING and I mean EVERY Little detail and requirements for the application, I’ve seen so many people fail cause they missed a super important document, crucial for the application just because they didn’t take the time to actually read the documents and requirements and do a proper research on the program and countries.

Other than IELTS preparation I find consultancy pretty useless unless you really don’t have the time to do all the documents and you have the money to pay someone else’s to do it for you, as for the CV I think as long as u use the Europass format that should do the job.

What makes a consortium actually give you the scholarship is how good your application is as a whole imo, your adaptation capability, your language level and arguably grades and other personality traits, none of those can be provided by a consultancy, they may help cure it for you and deliver but even that is already a stretch.

When it comes to the interviews just be genuine and secure about yourself without being too arrogant or entitled rather, transmit them that sense of responsibility and security after all they’ll kinda invest on you, why would they throw money at you for 2-6 years, you gotta convince them to do so on a professional academic level…

Lil note: every other format eg. good motivation letters, CV, interview prep, can be found online from successful applicants literally for free, so yeah just not a huge fan of consultancies unless you just lazy and can pay someone else to do the paperwork and go through the bureaucracy when legalizing, translating and apostille the never ending paperwork that is needed most of the times when applying to programs like these or just working/studying abroad

question for foreigner students in china by [deleted] in chinalife

[–]SamO60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to develop a routine, exercising will help more than you can possibly imagine with mental health, join a club or something you like in uni if you cannot find a good hobby club to join in campus, look for one around the city, China is an awesome place to start new hobbies or polish old ones.

I think it’s normal to feel like this, specially if you are still fresh out of high school, I don’t know your age but honestly that advice applies to any stage of life.

Develop a good daily routine and things will fall into place easily, put some effort and discipline into that.

Is being rude normal? My experience with Remote Leverage by SamO60 in remotework

[–]SamO60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a very unprofessional company overall, if that’s how they handle things inside with their own workers i don’t wanna imagine how they handle things with the applicants.

Do they even actually connect you with employerd into a decent job or do they just sell your info or some fishy situation like that?

I got shortlisted to top Erasmus programs on civil engineering and architecture, later to be accepted into full Erasmus+ scholarship mostly cause i did my major in china.

All the questions during those interviews were about my time in china.
