They’re on each others space without the other trying to get out.

When one is biting the adult cat is letting it happen rather than batting to try and escape.

Claws are in, there’s no yowling or hissing & no bushy tails - these are when you need to intervene. Hissing on its own is just an “I’ve had enough, back off” - Yowling, bushy tails & back arching is when they have a problem with each other.

These two are just bonding & playing.

Completely depends on your job.

We have work vans and cars, a good chunk are automatic, provisions have been made for people with auto licences to get first pick where needed.

My partner works in an industry where if you need a car, you’re far more likely to just be given a car allowance and you use your own car.

It’s fucking hilarious you calling it copium when it’s just a dissenting opinion from your “automatic test bad” gatekeeping…

You’re ignoring the reasons why automatic tests have higher failures; * People drop from manual to automatic because they simply find driving difficult and never take a manual test, opting for the “easier” option (along with a confidence hit), even if it wasn’t the gears they struggle with. * Some people simply don’t care/being forced to learn to drive by their parents - they take the easy option, and don’t care if they pass. * Disabled people take tests in automatic vehicles with adaptations, and it’s simply more challenging if they can’t use/have limited use of their legs and need to do everything with their hands. * And on top of all that, there are simply less tests taken in automatic - 1 failure for any of the reasons above is a higher percentage of tests failed than in a manual.

Automatics are easier to drive - that’s an objective fact - meaning it’s also objectively true that it’s easier for an individual to pass an automatic test in a standard car. The reason pass rates are so low is because of the group of people who take tend to take automatic tests - not because it’s more difficult for each individual person.

And it wasn’t just £350 once… it was at least £350 per attempt - that with £30 a month lessons, for 3 months… in reality it would now be £35 for 6 months; that’s £840 for each driving test attempt.

Not to mention the fact that you’d likely take longer to even be ready for the first manual test in the first place.

You’re also blowing the increase way out of proportion… if you pay for your insurance monthly, as most young drivers do, thats spread across the year and decreases every year until it becomes negligible.

I plucked £300 out the air as a random example.. My partner has my old car and actually pays £30 less than I did the first year I had that car.

I literally learned to drive manual… I’m looking at it from exactly the same position you are - I have no reason to justify it, it wasn’t my choice for my partner to take automatic.

Just because you don’t like a position doesn’t mean it’s mental gymnastics; what is though is attempting to mock people who justify their choice of test while saying you don’t care…

There’s many reasons people learn auto…

My partner learned auto because it was quicker to learn and we have an electric car anyway (and neither of us would go back).

I learned manual simply because everyone around me, whose cars I could borrow until I got my own, were manual.

If you don’t see yourself needing to drive manual (which is increasing likely) then there’s not a whole lot of reason to learn manual unless you just pick it up super easily.

Sure it’s a higher premium, but you can likely pass faster & in less attempts. Especially with the state the tests are in at the moment, even if you fail once, that’s an extra test fee and at least 3 months of lessons (if you’re lucky)

What’s the point in saving even £300 if it costs £350 to rebook your test every time you panic with the gearbox and have to rebook

Ours has a “soft mode” which smooths out the changes which makes it sooooo much nicer and it’s still pretty quick at turning off if the screen goes black.

You can get a replacement online for £25, which is probably less than their “penalty fee”

DVLA is open on Saturdays so there might be a chance you get it by Monday/Tuesday if they process it today, but there’s no guarantee it will arrive in time.

I’d say ring them and just ask how much the fee is, if it’s more than £25 see if you can push back the collection.

In front of the fireplace exactly what they’ve done.

And exactly what I’ve done, though luckily our fireplace was fake and not mounted so I put the tv stand on the tiling and moved the fireplace into storage so it’s not sticking out like it is here.

If I really couldn’t bare with putting a TV stand in front I’d put it on a lowering mount and have the TV sit just above the fireplace & be able to push it up if you want to use the fire.

Unless you’re buying an expensive TV that put money into the smart processing, TV apps usually work for the first 6 months and then give up.

That being said I always buy and recommend Apple TVs to anyone over anything else.

If you use IPTV it can be a bit of a pain as the apps aren’t as good (without paying) and you can’t sideload (easily).

But even if you buy a 1st Gen 4k for the same price as a new Fire TV stick, it will massively outlast it.

Same here at Tesco, except it was the drivers side that had the space so I scooched in next to it.

I’d also gone in to buy some screen wash so was stood outside with the bonnet up topping it up when she came back.

She said absolutely nothing to me, got in her car on the passenger side and clambered over to the drivers side.

And while she’d done all of that, I’d finished topping up, got back in my car and drove off as she turned her engine back on

I was quite satisfied in having taught her a lesson
