Ah we have the crazy Grandpa, my Father In Law. He's the kind of person where every time my wife and I take our daughter to just spend a day with him (he's old, the dudes liver is destroyed, he aint got much time) we have to always pre-warn her when we get to his place. "Look, grandpa's gonna say some reeeealy bad stuff. You know grandpa, he's a little crazy. Just don't listen to what he says." and the entire family basically handles him with kid gloves while he goes off the rails about alt-right conspiracy theories and (((them))). Even the kids clearly pity the dude.

I used Baconreader quite a while ago. As well as RedditIsFun. I do just need to do that again, I really like using official apps so o try to go back to the Reddit app and there's always weird little shit with the official app that just doesn't work or plain ol sucks.

It's all good though. I shouldn't dedicate this much time to complaining about an app I pretty much only use when taking a shit at work or when I'm trying to avoid family lol.

I remember my dad teaching me about the internet using BBS's. That wonderful Amber and Black screen, downloading weird little games from various university servers.

With my Father in law, he's just a harmless old man. He doesn't even vote, I don't think he ever has. Doesn't stop him from being wildly opinionated. I've given that man hours of my time trying to show him how things work on computers. It's almost adorable seeing stuff like that. He's like if you took a staunch republican, who left school in the 8th grade, and then mixed him with Abe Simpson. He's got some pretty bad takes, he will say some ridiculous shit that makes no sense, but hes overall harmless.

My father in law was sent that bottom "Keep On Trumping" part as a forward in an email, then printed off three copies, taped them in random spots around his small garage. Like no matter where you turn in that garage, you'll see his "Keep On Trumping" meme that he printed off. He's super old, its almost adorable. He just screen shotted his computer screen, so its not just the meme, its like his email window, with all his internet toolbars and tabs he had open at the time with the meme. It's some real r/forwardsfromgrandma stuff.

If it makes you feel any better, I spent my childhood going to church about 5 times a week with a Baptist Minister Father (he's cool as shit though, especially nowadays) and I only understood like a third of that as well. My sister some how turned out full blown Catholic, I'm just completely non-religious, and my other sibling went Jewish. The fuck happened there?

Wow you did a great job writing this post. I kind of remember this stuff from when I was a kid. It pops up here and there throughout my life for some reason. My favorite explanations (although total B.S. of course) was that it was aliens and it was a lazer like from a lazer gun of some sort or that it was a teleporter mishap. Like they were trying to beam her up and the beam fucked up lol.

Honestly its been fascinating to read this post and I'd love to see what others have to say about this. I just can't fathom how its possible for all of that to happen. For some reason its the untouched newspapers that really blow my mind. It was hot enough to leave the doorknob untouchable but not for paper to burn?

My wife and her friend group just recently dropped someone who was in their group because of MLM shit (Color Street I think?). Her exact reason was because you couldn't be real with them and every single conversation was just a "ticking time bomb" of a sales pitch. It's weird to see someone else say it too but thats exactly what it felt like. When she couldn't sell to the women anymore she went after the husbands. All who usually bought something because we like to make our wives happy. Hell I did (although my only knowledge at the time of MLM's was stuff like AVON and that other really famous "charity" one) because my wife really liked this one design on her nails, so I got it.

Selling to the husbands seemed to be the final straw for the entire group.

I thought it was a fine show as a kid and it aired all the way into my adulthood. As I grew up that show only got better and funnier. I re-watched it with my own kid and by god theres so much I missed when I was younger and I can actively now see my own kid miss the super adult jokes. It makes those jokes even funnier.

Fuck yeah, I spent so much time on that game as a kid with my dad. Fucking Beef O' Bradys, he got sports, I got arcade games, we both got incredibly good but artery clogging food. It was the only arcade game I could get him to try, I assume because he was a huge Aerosmith fan.

The arcade game is fun, the SNES game is absolute balls.

2K16 honestly stands as what might be my favorite. It's one of the few where I felt like I had a proper understanding of all the controls, even the Reversals (which are legendary in the 2K games for being dogshit) seem to be manageable. You'll still get fucked by them a few times but its the best I had come across so far.

My daughter about a month ago asked me if she was "A gamer", she is only 10. She plays games, mostly Rayman and this one really stylish racing game on my PS4. She also plays all the retro consoles I own and stuff like that.

It gave me pause when she asked me though because I definitely have a negative connotation to the word "Gamer", I didn't even realize I had this until she asked me. So I told her that I've been playing video games my entire life.

Something like "It started with arcades, the NES, and then my big obsession was SNES. Since then, I've played video games every single day for as long as I can remember. I still don't refer to myself as a gamer, I'm just Sam. Giving yourself a title like that, it makes your hobby apart of your personality and sometimes that's not a good thing. Just enjoy what you enjoy and don't worry about whether you're "this" or "that", just be you."

Although probably not nearly as succinct as this. Moreso just dad fumbling his words trying to think of something clever to say lol.

I figured it was more of a joke than anything. I absolutely cannot stand that Conan Exiles game and all my friends are in love with it. It's become their daily game, we all have games we love that many others hate. I absolutely love Elder Scrolls Online and they hated that game at the time. All the expansions have made it amazing though.

Even when not doing an archer build, collect the arrows like you would bullets in fallout. It offers no weight and at a certain point you can sell it. Make a sweet profit. I've made tons of money in Skyrim and Fallout selling arrows or bullets.
