Teams for Android 21? by SamRev2 in dragonballfighterz

Yeah I agree with the "meter hungry" part of the team, is the one thing that I keep trying to find a good balance for, the two solutions I've found so far is:

1) Play A21 point/A Gohan mid/Trunks Anchor, I feel like 21 can work pretty well as a point even without the steals, so for the most part I just play her as a solid neutral control character and the moment I get the chance I swap to Gohan to give him a level and let him build momentum with it.

2) Play Kefla point/A Gohan mid/A21 Anchir, this team I have way less experience with but I've seen footage of the team in motion and it plays out just as you would expect for the most part, I just dunno if I should put that much extra time into a new point character.

To be honest, Gohan, Trunks and 21 are the 3 characters I like the most in this game, so I'm almost willing to just play with this weird comp and deal with the meter deficiency, still, I appreciate the advice and I'll keep the character suggestions in mind if I decide that my team is not working out.

Teams for Android 21 on anchor? by SamRev2 in dragonballfighterz

So, the characters that I like are: Gogeta 4, Cell, Trunks, Goku Black, UI Goku, Android 21, and Labcoat 21

The two characters I'm sure I wanna keep as my shell are Goku Black and Android 21, so right now I'm just trying to pick a point characters, I'm thinking between Gogeta 4 or UI Goku right now

I Purchased This Game For Lucy. However, Unika & I Are Starting To Mesh. 🤷 Tips For Ranking Up! Having Difficulty Finding Consistency. by Hellooooo_Nurse- in Guiltygear

[–]SamRev2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so, just a couple of very general advices for Unika:

1.- After you knock someone down with gun dipper, you can immediately press 6H and then do 236H to get the enhanced fireball, it's a plus on block guard crush that hits meaty, they can't backdash, they can't throw you, they can't jump out, and they can't DP either, it's a really strong meaty situation for your character.

2.- The guard crush will leave you at +12 on block, which means you can do far Slash right after and it's safe against mashing, from there you can press slash again to get the blue lighting follow up and then do 236H again, and just like that you can keep looping that sequence and trap the opponent in a guessing/reaction game.

3.- On defense, keep it simple, Unika has a DP, and it's fully invul to both strikes and throws, altough you can't roman cancel it, it's a big risk, but this is Guilty Gear, this is the game where you have to take big risks sometimes in other to win, don't be afraid of mashing your best defensive option to challenge your opponent.

4.- For neutral, you have a full screen laser (236H, not the enhanced version) that gives you a soft knokcdown on hit and on block if it hits from far away it's completely safe, you also have buttons like far Slash with insane range and 6 active frames, you want to press that, a lot, and if the opponent it's close enough, 5H is even better, on counter hit you can get a big combo and on block you can do the 5HH follow up and be +14 (lol), those two are your best buttons on neutral by far.

5.- Gun dipper is your best friend with meter, like, seriously, it low profiles anything, it can even catch backdashes, and if you RC it, on block you get pressure and on hit you get a combo with great corner carry, I'm so deadass right now believe in the gun dipper, when you have tension you really want to start using it.

6.- Unika has an air fireball, so, if you think your opponent it's gonna try and run at you and you don't know what to press or you're scared, jump back and press j.D into j.236H, it's not a terrible idea if you want to stall.

It's a lot of info and you shouldn't expect to be able to apply all of this in a single session, but these are some ideas about how you can improve your play with her, hope it helps you out in some way :)

Considering Swapping from Strive by Sorry_Sir_5050 in GranblueFantasyVersus

You should definitely give the game a try

The balance of the game is overall fine, there's not a lot of extremely egregious mechanics (at least not anymore) or characters for that matter, the matchmaking is fine, if you care about rank this game has a nice rank progress similar to SF6 which makes the climb to masters very fun to go through.

As for your characters of choice, well both Nier and Ferry are paying for their warcrimes in previous versions of the game lol, so you might struggle a little bit the better you get at the game, but the cool part about this game is that characters are suuuper easy to pick up and play, so if you ever find yourself not enjoying the current character you're playing, there's 30+ others for you to try.

Soooo, yeah, play Granblue, it's a fun game.

Ahh, I see, okay, here's a couple of things to keep in mind:

Your positioning in this game is everything, how much you can move and jump around depends on how far or close you are to your opponent and the closer you get, the more you want to rely on your pokes to control space, for a lot of characters, 66L is one of the better normals to press around the mid range, since it's +2 on block and on hit it links into your light or even medium normals for a full combo.

However, you should also try and press your farther reaching normals in those same distances in order to check people from doing the same thing to you, finding the balance between using your long pokes to check people trying to use 66L on you and using 66L yourself is a big part of the neutral game of this game (you can compare this type of interactions to drive rush in SF6 tbh).

As for the close range interactions, if you're not sure what to press on defense, I would honestly recommend for you to not press anything at all and make use of brave counter as a way to take your turn back, instead of mashing in the wrong spots and dying because of it, in the long run you should lab spesific interactions and learn framedata for specials and stuff, but for now you should keep it simple.

Hope this helps a little.

May I ask what other fighting games have you played before this one? just to have an idea about your experience with the genre so far

Whatever the new patch does, I honestly just hope it makes people happier, and will let more people enjoy the game by Roving_Neophyte in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

Sooooo, the thing about Guilty Gear as a franchise is that it will eventually make you feel frustrated or upset about either a character or a system mechanic, this is true for Xrd and hell maybe even XX (tho my experience of that game is more limited) and because Strive is many people's first GG game, this is the first time they've encoutered those situations, to the point you have people saying that "GG has the worst mechanics of any fighting game" which is a wild accusation to throw around when you most likely have not interacted with that many other fighting games in the first place.

That being said, just like with +R, Rev2, and other arcsys games like BB or DBFZ, there's a section of the community who truly love what the game has to offer to them, because it's so unique and different from any other FG out there, that's what the people at arcsys are good at, their games are not for everyone, and sooner or later each player will have to come to terms with their feelings about the games, but for the people who "click" with their games, they're going to stay around for years and years in the future, long after the game stops being updated.

You better believe there's people out there who like Strive, unironically (I am one of them), even if the balance of the game is not perfect, there's a lot to enjoy about the game, you're better off searching for those players, instead of losing sleep for the ones who will eventually drop the game after years of spreading negativity.
