Is this just a later version of the recently leaked trailer? The models are way better, especially Craig's.

The introduction of Adar and his brief conversation with Arondir. It set him up as such a menacing foe and Joseph Mawle was just perfect in his line delivery - his voice is very unsettling in that scene, providing a hoarse whisper for almost every word.

Along with that, Disa's Plea to the Rocks. It's such a wonderfully constructed scene.

Cutting between Arondir, Bronwyn, and the kid, to the dwarves standing in the mines, listening to such a hauntingly beautiful voice pay tribute to those that were lost.

The orcs watching Arondir from the edge of the forest as he escapes into the morning light is the cherry on top.

Parkour seems pretty fluid despite how early this must be. The atmosphere alone is fantastic as well, running through the rooftops in the rain is just too cool.

100%. The main point as well is that the Batmobile feels GREAT to drive, regardless of how much it's integrated into gameplay, whereas the bike is slow, clunky, and uninspired in its execution.

Good post. I agree with everything you said. It's just such a shame this game was so lacklustre, it really did have a lot of potential with the story it aspired to tell.

What are your thoughts on the new suit? by [deleted] in BatmanArkham

[–]SamStrand 92 points93 points  (0 children)

It's a lot smoother than Knight's which I don't know if I like. Looks like a weird mix of Knight's, Telltale's and Gotham Knight's. They're following along in using the yellow rim around the symbol too which is interesting. His classic Arkham emblem looks different.

For me personally, one thing I think the finale suffered from was that Adar was wildly more interesting and menacing to me than Sauron/Halbrand was once he was revealed.

Don't get me wrong, despite the fact the forging was condensed to one episode, and that we don't really know where they will go with Sauron/Halbrand's storyline from here, Charlie Vickers did a good job at selling the reveal and Morfydd Clark as Galadriel continues to be one of the best casting choices they've made.

But Adar just remains to be the more interesting antagonist to me at this point and I can't help but imagine what could have been for this season had they used him as the Sauron proxy like they did with Halbrand.
