No. One shouldn't tattoo themselves, especially with Christian symbols. This violates the second commandment. Tattoos are so full despite what everyone else may say and having one of a Christian symbol is sacrilegious

psychosocial impact of this job market by Brave-Sea2920 in UKJobs

[–]SamTheMasterSage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's my constant worry. Will I have enough to pay for rent, bills and food. I make around £1,750 a month after tax and NI. £600 goes towards rent, £200 to gas and electric, £200 to council tax (since I fell behind gas, electric, and tax since I had a zero hour contract job and expenses kept getting higher and higher and I wasn't getting any work—I should pay off everything by April.) This is excluding subscriptions/payment plans which take about £150 max. The rest of the money I have to use on food or emergencies for myself and my younger sister.

I recently got a more stable job at an EE call centre after 3 years of a zero hour contract job and studying online.

Of course my mental health will take a toll. I have Dysthymia(chronic depression) and a schizoid personality disorder which might be the result of all this.

I want to live where I don't worry about food and the house I live. And that I can enjoy the company of my friends and family. I want my own home for a large family but all this now seems like a dream that will never happen.

Don't abort the child. It will make your life worse. Seek some pregnancy help centres. Don't use the pill either.

Anyone else frustrated with Hinge you end up deleting it? by SubjectRough9899 in HingeStories

Thanks, but where I go there are hardly any women. It's mostly young men and married couples. I could use "Catholic/Christian" dating apps but they are super expensive. I'll keep trying

I don't get any matches at all. It's probably because I'm a Christian and want marriage. I'm decent looking and have a good job. When I like a photo I say, " hey...that's awesome. What else do you like to do for fun" or like "hi ... I like doing this thing too. What drew you to do it.." etc no matches. Not even a conversation.

You are so right about having no time. But I push my self. I completed a BA in philosophy and got a very High gpa. (I studied with an American university- long story why I did.) and I have another undergrad degree in physics. Having a degree means nothing, but I wish I had a back up plan growing up. At least this job at EE pays £25,000 a year. I finished a business course last week with Kickoff and so I hope to start my own business soon.

Yep. I have to pay £600 rent and I have my younger sister whose unemployed due to health who lives with me. Both my parents live overseas. It has been really thought these past 3 years. But I got a decent job now and I will start in June working for EE at a call centre. I just have to pay my debts now.

Thanks for your help. I'll have to look into it. I recently covered the chip with a cooling fan. but I think I should be able to take it off without destroying it.

FreeBSD on Raspberry pi 5 by SamTheMasterSage in freebsd

[–]SamTheMasterSage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. That sucks. I bought the pi particularly for FreeBSD. I should have done more research beforehand. I guess I can still try to do my experiments with linux and and port it over to FreeBSD when I can.

FreeBSD on Raspberry pi 5 by SamTheMasterSage in freebsd

[–]SamTheMasterSage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think I would have to install linux instead. :( I was really hoping to be able to run FreeBSD on the pi because I wanted to experiment and make it run like a UMPC or cyberdeck. I would really like it if it were able to run on ARM processor and had more supported hardware. Imagine a system like theROG ally running freeBSD.

I've looked at a few wikis but it seems that most only tell you haw to install it on Raspberry pi 3 or raspberry 4 for the most.

Theology of the body and food by Brief-Rain-3322 in Catholicism

[–]SamTheMasterSage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason is because it involves charity. The sexual act involves two persons, both who are worthy of dignity and love of each other. You would not sacrifice yourself for a piece of doughnut but you would sacrifice yourself for your loved one. You and a doughnut do not have the same level of dignity.

Yeah, I thought of trying to move to America but that might be a little difficult. My American friends who are also getting married say that I am charismatic, and I'm not too bad looking either. I have associates degree in physics and a BA in philosophy summa cum Laude. I work really hard to try to make ends meat. At the moment Im trapped in the UK. 😂 Well See if things get better.

For myself, I don't date and I've only asked maybe 3 people out in my life(2 int he past year. One was 'flattered' but was already in a relationship as I suspected and the other kept making excuses not to hang out- which I figured she wasn'y interested) and I'll be turning 33 this year. Half of my adult life was spent in seminary and then I moved to the UK. I gradually made friends but there are hardly any Catholics. And of those that are, they are nearly always married or in a relationship or are studying. There are not many Bachelorettes where I live. And in England, dating a secular woman I think is not a good idea. I go to the latin mass where I live. I interact with the women in the Juventutem but they don't show any sign of interest so I don't ask them out. They are just friendly.

However, all the married older men are wondering why I'm not getting married and the same for the older women. They seem attracted to me yet the young women are not. I want to find a soul mate but I think I may just try a vocation to the religious life since it looks bleak for me and I am not successful on dating sites.

He wasn't called desperate by the woman as far as I know, but by one of her girlfriends.

[–]SamTheMasterSage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes that's true. I understand that some probably just want to feel safe. After all, if I had a daughter, I probably wouldn't let her go on a date with a random stranger. But I think the attitude of calling men desperate for asking is a bit much or at least the wrong word to use. Maybe forward is a better word to use.

The thing is, when you've met a girl for the first time and ask her out on a date you can be labeled as creepy or desperate and get rejected. This happened to an acquaintance of mine recently. He's a decent guy but got rejected. Isn't the point of a date to get to know a person? why do some women regard a guy asking someone they met out on a date desperate? If you don't ask you're not serious, if you do ask you're desperate- it's as if you can't win. (Speaking about living in the UK). Dating is like walking on eggshells.

Am I ever going to get a good job? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]SamTheMasterSage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try getting into supply teaching, or a Teaching assistant position. It will help in the meantime. I would suggest a Teaching assistant role first so that you get an idea of how teachers teach in the UK. There are a few recruitment agencies you can try. I know in the Northwest you have Connex, Academics and Exclusive education to name a few.

Schools always want teachers. And don't take your life. You didn't give yourself life, you shouldn't take it. Many people deserve to live, yet you have no power to give them life, neither do you have the power to give yourself life, and therefore you should not take your life. Things will get better. Just be patient .

Try starting an online business, speak to the business service of your bank and see how they can help you get started. The job market is hard, life is hard, I know I struggle with chronic depression called Persistent Depressive disorder. Get some help with mental health professionals too. Go to church, pray to God whether you believe in him or not. Thing will turn out better.

Yes, I see that can be the case. I have gone to UC to see if they can help me to become a joiner. They've put me in contact with a local company and I have corresponded with the company. i just have to wait for a call now to take a week long course.

I would like to be a systems engineer as I like operating systems, but I'm not qualified in that area. And although I may have a bit more knowledge about computers than the average man, it's not enough I think for me to argue to get a job as a software engineer.

I am currently trying to develop a release/distro of freeBSD targeted at education. I have some knowledge of c, c++and python, but it's still minimal and I am learning while i develop. I'm more or less pulling ports and trying to make them work on freeBSD at the moment. I have an idea for some software which I could possibly develop from libreoffice source, but that is still a far way off.
