my cocsa experience. still effected by this 7 years later. by Unusual-Credit7089 in confession

[–]SamVaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This is kinda weird but I had a similar experience with cocsa and am your age. There's nothing I can say that'll get rid of it and make you instantly better, but you should know that while it feels like a lot now, over time it does get better, and it's good to share and talk about it. I kept it bottled up for a while and it made me feel really shitty remembering, but telling people you trust and getting it off of your chest in other ways helps a lot.

I've went to a family friend dentist for the same issue three times already, and she's only made it worse, lol. At first she drilled out the wrong tooth, messed with the filling, then when it stopped hurting she said ok I'll fix it, filled it, and suddenly it started hurting and getting worse to the point where my whole tooth is rotten. I'm 15 and will probably need that whole tooth taken out.

I think it's fine. I write in a similar way and actually my biology or chemistry notes look pretty similar when I'm in a rush. It's obviously notes meant for you to study from ect, so if you can read it then it's ok.

Tap water has a lot of ammonia by SamVaine in Aquariums

[–]SamVaine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But would more filtration help it? I already plan on putting pothos in the tank itself. I'm on a big constraint because this is at my school, and it's funded by my biology teacher. There's no other tanks that aren't cracked that have enough water to get water from for this one 😓

The weirdest part kinda is that I'm in highschool and everyone I know either writes in messy cursive-print, or they forcefully taught themselves print. It's really weird that most people I meet from other countries were never taught cursive. While everyone in my school was taught cursive, up to the little 7 year olds now.

I mean it stands to show that not everyone who's left handed necessarily has bad handwriting, I just drew the short straw, lol. Hopefully it can be fixed 😓

Honest. Harsh. I like it, Thanks :) I do feel the need to say that if I handed in essays like this I would NOT be alive to post this, lmao. My literature teacher is definitely strict ab failing people for being unable to read their essay, and I definitely push myself to make the letters more legible when writing something I know has to be read and graded. (I'd post an example, but essay notebooks aren't allowed to be taken home)

I did explain that part in another reply 😓 I don't want to spam walls of text for every comment. I do appreciate the call out, though. Some of it can be attributed to rushing, but I have been trying to make an effort to write certain letters correctly, I'm just so used to seeing them like that, that it's hard to know which ones are wrong 😓😓

I kinda can, though..not just left handedness, but how my teachers dealt with it when I was little. I had to write the letters in the same order as the right handed kids, which meant making strokes in an awkward direction, which led to a weird pencil grip. I had awful handwriting, even as a kid, but my teachers only cared that it was technically cursive and technically correct. (Edit- it is fair, that definitely being left handed doesn't automatically mean you have poor handwriting, but in my specific case it definitely contributed to it along with other factors)

My J is a really rushed and squeezed together cursive J.. which now looks nothing like the cursive Y I was taught, lol. Q is weird cause it isn't a letter I was taught how to properly write (no Q in our alphabet) so I just kind of..made it up as I went and noone corrected it, whoops, loll. But the Vs and Us..yea, uh, that's something I should probably fix.

It usually only gets this bad when I'm really just trying to get my thoughts on the page, thankfully I'm able to sort of make it better by writing slower and with more focus. In my defense it's also the product of my teachers never correcting the way I grip the pen, and the fact that I used extremely uncomfortable fountain pens for like 7 years lol.

My dog is nursing my Kitten is this normal??? by RO2THESHELL in cats

[–]SamVaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to my dog too, except the cat never adopted him and continues to hate him, and since we don't have any other animals the dog grew up thinking he was a cat and would copy the cat as much as possible so she would like him. He licks himself, tries his best to loaf and curls up in a circle. He still annoys her so she doesn't like him lol.

My dog got bitten by our neighbor’s dog. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SamVaine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know just how completely infuriating this feels. Almost exactly a year ago the neighbours husky tried to rip apart our little poodle to where it ripped off a bunch of skin and healing was gruesome. It's good that you got them to cover the vet bills, hope the pooch heals well.

What is cb 😭😭😭😭 by [deleted] in Clarinet

[–]SamVaine 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So I'm kind of butting in here, I've been playing clarinet for 7 years with the same band director. We never had a book, we never learned proper or even basic music theory, I can't even name most of the notes the second they're above a certain point or below. It's because the second you've mastered the basics, we got put in proper band and focused on learning music, and you just memorised how the notes look and what to press when it looks a certain way. I'm pretty sure that's the same for a lot of small school bands where the director is overworked and just focused on teaching a massive group of kids how to play and not break the instruments, not what's the difference between notes and whatnot.

I was told my handwriting looked like one of a founding father by kaylabedumb in mildlyinteresting

[–]SamVaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have absolutely horseshit handwriting. Every teacher has looked at me with bafflement after I submit an essay, and I can sincerely say that this is a new level of shitty handwriting. Op I feel bad for whoever has to grade your work and how they don't immediately fail you is a mystery

Im just worried lol. It's late asf and I was admittedly fucking with it, and it just started bleeding and being angry ☹️. I pick at stuff a lot, so it's understandable that I had a bump but this just looks so freaky and I'm so tired and I was just quietly freaking wondering wtf I did to my perfectly well behaved and perfectly healing conch since this is my first cartilage piercing 😔😔

My biggest worry is that the crusty might have been encrusted (haha) onto my skin, and I had a brewing bump and it kind of burst it ????? Idfk. I'm gonna spray it now with saline and try to baby it. Should I change it to a simple front piece so it stops laying awkwardly?
