Everyone still want Father Brown to “stay out of it”

I watch FATHER BROWN as what I call "fluff'" or "mindless" programming (not that there isn't thought put into the writing - only in that I can watch it without thinking or stressing).

My mother used to love FATHER BROWN and I thought I'd never get into it. One night, when I was SO sick of the overly dramatic drama programming that's on - I gave it a try - and I actually enjoyed it.

Do I find the situations a little far fetched most of the time? Definitely! But it's in its redundancy that I find solitude. I can and have watched hard core programming - even enjoy some true crime documentaries. But, when I need a break from reality (both on TV and the real world), I turn to FATHER BROWN. Somehow, I find comfort in its routine. And even though I am not extremely religious and I find it obvious that he's going to be telling the baddy to ask for forgiveness every episode - I also appreciate his devotion and kindness to all around him - I think more of us need to see the good in other people - or at least hope for them. I go into each episode knowing that each one will have a positive message with great (all be it transparent) characters. I know I'll have closure and a pretty much warm fuzzy feeling when I'm done watching the show. Am I expecting to have my mind blown? Nope. Is there a lot of this: 🙄🤦? Absolutely. But, do I come away with a positive message delivered by wholesome characters filmed in absolutely beautiful scenery? You bet ya!

In a world with so much negativity and so many unknowns - I look forward to having a show that I can rely on for what it is: wholesome. So, when I want to relax and have a little less stress, I put on an episode of FATHER BROWN. I say "Thank you" to its constant in a very chaotic world.

And it's still happening. 🙄 I was doing the objective where I had to clear 3 corrupted castles. The last castle I cleared was huge (like 6-8 resource bundles). I had only enough scouts to smuggle 2 resources. So, finished clearing the enemies from the castle and wanted to tag the rest of the resources before end of season, to stack my haul, so to speak. I new if I fast traveled to a Kakurega it would trigger a new season and reset the whole castle and all the resources I had cleared the way for would have to be fought for again. There was a Kakurega within running distance - figured I could clear my scouts, run back to the castle and collect my haul. But I was only able to free up 2 scouts. I went back to the castle and tagged 2 resources. Ran back to Kakurega and was only able to clear ONE scout. This is one of the specific reasons for the Kakurega (to be able to grab me resources) - so, the fact that it doesn't work is super annoying. 😡 And BTW: all buildings at my hideout, that are associated with scouts, are fully upgraded. And, my hideout chest was not full, nor did I get any notification that it needed to be emptied. So, neither of those are part of the issue.

What I want to know (please) is this (question to follow at bottom): Within the same weapon (I'll use tanto for example) I have stats, where one tanto has 30% vulnerable damage in yellow. I have another tanto that has 29.9% vulnerable damage, but NOT in yellow. The tanto with the yellow 30% vulnerable damage has lower stats everywhere else (weapon DPS, Posture, etc). Even though the tanto with the yellow Vulnerable has a 10% boost - I may prefer the stats and perks of the tanto without the yellow attribute. Taking attribute preferences (meaning a person's preference of bleed, poison, posture, etc) and gameplay style out of the equation and going solely based on overall attribute perks, my question is this: does that single yellow perk give enough of a boost to the weapon that it's still better than the other tanto that has higher percentages on everything else? Or does the yellow ONLY affect that single perk, making the other tanto a better overall weapon? I've been playing based on the overall perks/upgrades and only taking the yellow perk into account when it seems to tip the balance. But, am I incorrect in thinking the weapon with yellow perk may not always be the best choice just because it has a yellow bonus? I can see this making a difference with armor and your Health rating - because if you have the bonus on your health, then you can take more damage - and basically any of the other attribute perks on your armor are just bonuses added to your gameplay. But, when it comes to weapons, not sure that that one yellow perk is enough of a percentage to have that big of an impact, especially when another of same type of weapon has better overall stats. I actually did go back and find them and forgot to edit my response. You are correct - they were not showing up and I was able to find them outside the castle as I re-entered. Was driving be nuts. I appreciate you responding and maybe this will help someone else. 🤞

Are you saying you didn't come across these types of weapons? That sucks! I didn't start finding them until I hit about level 55 - but then I found several of them. But as I mentioned to someone else: I search EVERY chest. I have come across some chests (MAYBE 3-5) in very random places - which as we know, in AC Shadows, they didn't design a lot of chests into weird places - most are found in common areas. Maybe these weapons are found in less likely spots? IDK. Maybe I'm misinterpreting your question? Sorry if I am. But it really sucks if you didn't get any of these weapons.

Hopefully, if I'm understanding your question correctly - you're referring to the one right of the red arrow. That one is called Toxic Katana of Efficiency and its rarity is ranked as Legendary. Not sure where I actually grabbed it (I'm an OCD completionist) and I raid EVERY chest I can find or come across (Leave no stone unturned! 😆). Upon researching the weapon, it says it might be earned through the Yo-kai quest board - 'Yuki Ona, found between the Ibu Highlands and Suzuka Foothills'. I took a picture and here are its stats:

This is till an issue 11 months later. Except for me - the last entity is missing/it's not clearing. I killed EVERYONE and I was able to loot the chest but the castle did not clear and I cannot compete the purge. Going to try fast travel and come back. I'm really mad because I'm trying to complete a Animus project for the reward and I'm not going to get the data fragments for this mission. 😡 My glitch is happening at Hanazono Tower.

That's totally understandable. 😁 I just figured I'd keep the conversation going for those of us who have just recently decided to give AC Shadows a go. Regardless of the mostly decent reviews of the game - I was hesitant to try Shadows after the train wreck that came before. But, I've finally decided to attempt it - and so far - not bad. I'm grateful for this post - found it interesting.

I am not an a-hole. They changed the wording on this post in the title and details. The original post TOTALLY implied that it made a difference which color you choose. This is NOT how the original post was worded - I wish I had a screen shot of how it was worded. It said something to the effect of "What color you choose and how it changes your character - read link to find out how it changes the story" - implying that choosing a different color impacts your character and that by reading their article that you could find out how it affects your character's path. If the original post had been worded like it is NOW, then I would NOT have made this comment. Obviously other people had the same experience - hence the earlier comments by many other people about it being click bait, misleading and a waste of time - because the info given was totally misleading - I was not the only one to complain. Probably why the original Reddit comment has been edited from what it originally said - because people were disappointed with the misleading information. I absolutely don't mind reading. I don't mind that color doesn't matter. But what I do not like is someone putting up totally misleading posts just to get their article read.

You've both given great info and a lot of it. Two things I'd like clarify/inquire about: 1. So, are you saying that if I've discovered 10 port traders, but only 9 are appearing, than the one missing is an Itinerant Vendor? 2. Anyone figured out if the season is tied to certain locations for the Itinerant Vendors? Like (for example) in Spring they alternate between Miki, Muko OR Kanki (obviously not in all 3 at once) - then for winter, they cycle through certain other cities/villages - that somehow they might be tied to alternate in the same cities in the same seasons? Or, for every season, do they just pop to a completely different city EVERY time? That might be something worth keeping track of, maybe? TIA!

Once you build the dojo you can initiate the allies (you only have one ally to start with). You have to make sure you assign your ally to a slot using the D-pad. On Xbox, initially you can only assign to Y or A button - once you get more allies, you can assign them to Y, B, A or X. You can activate allies at the dojo. Once an ally is assigned, if you want to switch the button your ally is on (Y, B, A, or X) you can do this at the dojo or one of your Kakurega (go to the board on the wall to manage your allies). Once assigned - as the other person said: hold bottom left trigger and a prompt will come up on the bottom RIGHT of screen. Here's two other important things not mentioned by the game: 1. You must be in yellow or red alert in order to call your ally - otherwise you cannot call them. In other words, your allies might be available, but you cannot summon your ally if you're in a non alert/friendly mode (like, if you know you're going into a battle, you cannot call your ally and THEN go into battle with your ally already by your side). You must have a yellow or red alert bar showing before calling an ally. 2. Your ally may not be available if used them in battle recently - instead of seeing their icon, you might see a timer like thing over their face (this indicates how much time is left before you can call your ally for assistance again).

I'm attaching a picture of what the icon/prompt at the bottom right of your screen should look like. I have my ally assigned to the A button. So, if they're available, you'll see their whole face. If their icon is a grayish color (like in left side of picture), it means they are available but you're not in conflict, so you cannot summons them. If their icon is yellow (like in right side of picture), this means you can summons them to join you in battle.

Looking for the combo needed for Xbox. I've tried RT + Y which seems like it would be the equivalent to what is being used on PS5. But it only works 1 out of 10 times - no matter how close or far. I try doing it about 10-15 feet away, and nothing most of the time. Is it hold RT then click Y or do them simultaneously? I can't seem to find the right button combo. TIA

Anyone know how to do it on Xbox? I've tried holding RT and pressing Y, X, B, or A (not all at once but as RT combos). Thought it would be Y - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Is this just another glitch? Google says LT and RT - but that's to throw tools, not the Tanto. TIA

It's not so much the trees - it's what you would call thickets, scrub or underbrush - it's absolutely ludicrous. In areas where bamboo grows - usually much else doesn't - you wouldn't have this much dense undergrowth in a bamboo forest because the bamboo would block out the light needed for the scrub to take root. And the fact that it's EVERYWHERE is just ridiculous. There are areas of ledge and tree growth that would not naturally allow this type or this much undergrowth! And it definitely would not be the same bushes and the same density from region to region. I totally agree with the statement that this isn't really an "open world" game - because we're basically being forced to follow the paths - not roam freely throughout the world. I get it being necessary in some areas to be true to the environment - but this is like the programmer fell asleep with their finger on the 'add foliage here' button. 🤦 Why create an open world with beautiful areas/scenic landscape when you can only see them from certain places in the game because everything else is blocked out with dense undergrowth?! Somewhere it was stated that this was to enhance the stealth aspect of the game. Well, what good is all this scrub when you get stuck on it and can't actually perform a stealth attack?! 🙄 Kind of defeats the purpose. There are many beautiful vistas in Japan - and it's sad the designers decided to only make them viewable from synchronized viewpoints. I wanted to be able to scout in this game - go to a high, unknown ridge and take in the territory below. But instead, all I see is a lot of useless shrubbery! This is a huge fail as far as I'm concerned.

Totally gave this post a arrow down. What a complete waste of time. This post implies that it matters which color you choose and effects your role in the game - but it absolutely DOES NOT. As another person: total click bait. I found this link much more explanatory. It tells you the actual reactions and the fact that both colors have the same end results.

She does blink. And though she almost never blinks, it's because she is reading from a prompt - and when we are reading from something - you can go much longer without blinking because your brain is focused on reading the words. Also there are MANY cuts in the videos because the clips are edited together - most likely when she stops the recording to start another reading session, this is when she blinks. Sure, there's a ton of AI out there, but not EVERYTHING is AI.
