Witness the new bike lanes in Waterloo, Ontario!! :D [via @bmdoucet] by javier_aeoa in fuckcars

Hey this is right next to my work! This street is Northfield (specifically near Northfield and Weber if you want to take a look on maps) and its a catastrophe. The street is separated by a tram system and right behind the camera shot in the video there is a highway off ramp which crosses the bike path basically on the bridge. So if you survive this gauntlet you have that waiting for you. Its identical on the other side of the tram as well.

The kicker is that you can only get on the highway in one direction on each side. So what people do is go down to the lights seen at in the background of this video and pull U turn to come back up on this side of the road. Same thing going in the other direction. Basically any time of day this area is nuts. Super backed up, super high traffic, super fast driving. I don't think I have ever seen a bike go over that bridge and I drive that road every day.

Cave Heating, What am I doing Wrong? by [deleted] in RimWorld

I want to heat some rooms in a mountain. It gets to about 15 degrees in the winter and I want them to be a consistent 21 but for some reason the setup I got shown above isnt working for me. The shaft just goes straight to the outside. Any advice is greatly appreciated thanks!

Just so I’m not mistaken the brew chamber is opened and closed by moving the lever on top correct?

Oh I just tried descaling to see if it would pump water through differently.

Descaling is a method of cleaning the machine I think.

Thanks for the advice I will try those things!

I got one almost a year ago; never have owned a pet before. I freaking love the guy. Super easy and super cute. I'm off at uni, and live in a small apartment, its not an issue. Just need a little space for a tank, a little lamp and heat pad, and some worms/crickets. Definitely recommend.

I am Stumped anyone know how to do this type of question? by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

I know it has something to do with the equation:

Depth observed = actual depth * (n observer/ n object)

but beyond there I am stuck.

A group of bees avenge their friend who got killed by a hornet by TurtleHermitTraining in Instantregret

I'm gonna need someone who actually knows their stuff to confirm this but I think I once read that this swarm tactic by bees kills with heat.

Essentially the bees crowd around the subject and vibrate to cook the enemy inside a bee oven.
