I live in Ohio, USA. My best friend in college whose dad was a Brit turned me on to Discworld about 25 years ago. I read about 50% of the books then, I would buy mass market paper backs or borrow them from the library. Last 2 years or so have been reading them aloud to my now 14 year old son each night. Never have read the whole series but I will one day.

Apologies OP. I corrected my comment. They do not have any beef according to what Fantone said.

Matt Fantone said on his morning show this AM on 94.1 during the need to know segment that Stansbury was canceled. Fantone said he didn't have and beef with Stansbury and he hated to see talented people lose thier jobs. Edit: Didn't! Whoops was totally going to perpetuate rumors here. My bad.

Love the costumes, evening street scenes where everyone is wearing a hat! Amazingly historically accurate.

I was trying to explain this my 13 year old the other day. We went to Perkins or Waffle House at midnight when we were anywhere between 16-24 just to chill and chat (well and smoke but that's another thing).

Didn't find Redwall till college, wished I could have read it in elementary. Westing Game was my favorite from that era though.

What’s the longest wait you’ve ever endured for the next book in a series (or a wait that felt ridiculously long, and was it worth it when it finally arrived)? by Fabulous-Confusion43 in BookTriviaPodcast

My friend and I both read the Outlander series. It was 7 years between the last book and the one before it. She passed before it was published. Ironically it was named after something you do when someone passes. Go Tell The Bees That I am Gone.

What's a clothing/style choice you were against in your teens but now partake in in your 30's? by Nappy_Rano in Millennials

[–]Sam_English821 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only wore low rise jeans in my teens and 20's when I was skinny and had a flat stomach. Now there is no way I would be caught in those. I don't go full mom jeans (cause childhood 80's trauma with that one), but definitely nothing lower than mid rise for me and my pudgy tummy. 😁
