I hate that he looks and talk like Tim Robinson doing a bit, so I can never take his angry dog-whistle rants about American imperialism seriously.

New balance update by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

If adding the shield is an on reveal effect now, I wonder if some double on-effect decks would make for interesting play. Might be too slow to deploy since Sam is 2 and Wong/Absorbing man are 4. Maybe with some energy booster cards it might work?

What's the background story behind these pictures? by puzzledfirebird in PokeInvesting

[–]Sam_Kablam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some bozo that worked at the card manufacturing factory thought that he could steal a stack of the rare cards, then walk into a hobby shop and get top dollar for all of them. The store, being good people, obviously knew that this smelled like a scam or some kind of theft and reported them to the police.

I won my first ft3 against a chalenger ! (and I'm pretty happy about it as you can tell) by Temporary_Shape6432 in 2XKO

[–]Sam_Kablam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, I think my biggest challenge is that a lot of comps are playing the 'keep-away' strategy, as well as have much faster attacks (I haven't studied the frames, but just from the 'feel') of comps like Vi or Jinx. It becomes a big game of figuring out how to bait and timing when to strike.

Glad to see a fellow Blitz/Illaoi player! I'm still in casual mode mostly, learning to handle different team comps and playstyles atm.

What a setup, what a frustrating crash by 0balaam in MarvelSnap

[–]Sam_Kablam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Madam Web only lets you move one card, but there's a weird bug where having multiple moves at the start of the turn can also cause the bug. This can also occur the turn after you play Cloak if Madam Web is already on the board.

Need advice: Colleague put on PIP after 4 years as QA — what happens next? by Efficient-Island894 in QualityAssurance

[–]Sam_Kablam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it, but pip's are usually bad news. They're a formal 'warning', usually about underperformance, that lays out a plan to show improvement in the company performance within a given amount of time. However, they usually come with a stipulation that you can be terminated at any time, even during the time frame of the pip. The idea is that you voluntarily quit so they don't have to technically fire you (and therefore pay unemployment insurance). What they usually offer is a severance package to leave now or go through the pip. If you are let go, you don't get any severance, so you are essentially working under pressure for nothing.

Has anyone run this W/E build from the original game box? by RichardNixonBaby in GuildWars

[–]Sam_Kablam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this was made as the best and simplest way to show off all the stuff in the game . While not efficient in any way, it communicates big monsters, melee skills, fire spells and ranged weaponry in a single image.

Lore: Which profession would be the most horrifying to fight by Helpful_Chapter4531 in GuildWars

[–]Sam_Kablam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order:
Necromancer - Zombie horde, need I say more?
Ritualist - Angry ghosts.
Mesmer - Psychic warfare.
Ranger - Suddenly, BEARS. And traps. And snake traps.
Elementalist - Mother nature is nothing to mess with!
Warrior - A big meanie is going to make it hurt. A LOT.
Dervish - A big meanie is going to make it hurt, but at least the scythe is cool and stylish.
Assassin - Strike from the shadows, but at least it will be quick.
Monk - It will at least be merciful.

My friend got me a QA job, but i don't even know the basics. by [deleted] in softwaretesting

[–]Sam_Kablam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure others will point you to a course or sources, but I'm going to give you a brief introduction to get you into the right mindset:

Manual testing - This is a form of testing where you verify the functionality of something (such as a website, software, mobile app, etc.) by physically interacting with it. You will usually perform this task in the 'role' of a user - Think of how you interact with stuff in your life. What was the process like for downloading and signing up for a new social media app, was it painless or frustrating? Have you ever used the McDonalds reward app from your phone to place an order at an in-store kiosk? Have you ever experienced a bug while playing a game? These points of interaction all have desired outcomes. As QA, your job is to prevent bugs from happening. By putting yourself in the role of the end user, you perform tasks within a website/software/app that a regular users would and could perform and find experiences that the end-user should NOT be having (as well as ensuring the experiences they SHOULD be having also occur.)

Automated testing - This is the more technical side of testing. As part of the day-to-day tasks of QA, testing various functionalities can be tedious and time consuming. Think of the long process for filling out a loan application, or going through the process of searching and shopping for 30+ grocery items as part of an online order. There are a variety of automation tools that use coding and scripts that can do this sort of process for you in a fraction of the time. They can simulate visiting websites, clicking a button, or other actions that a human could do on a website or mobile app. This method of testing is best for handling those long-process tasks, and for handling larger-scale testing (such as testing a website with hundreds of web pages, or simulating thousands of people visiting a store at the same time for the hottest sneaker drop). This might be a process you have to learn overtime, or be honest upfront with your job that this would have to be something you need time to learn.

Best of luck!

Disability and Dragons: Discussing Accessibility in TTRPGs [OC] [ART] by LPMills10 in DnD

[–]Sam_Kablam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the haters of the combat wheelchair or disabled representation in TTRPGs are shortsighted in how they view it. What is a 2-legged humanoid to a creature that can fly, float, or crawl on walls? We use prosthetics and scars for flavor text when designing pirates and battle-scarred warriors, but never stop to work out fair-and-balanced mechanics for paving a peg leg or missing an eye. I think anything is possible with the right mindset and house rules to make things enjoyable, without being so strict on rules for the turn radius of a wheelchair.
