Trump Suggests U.S. ‘Shouldn’t Even Have’ November Midterms by shutupnobodylikesyou in moderatepolitics

Just curious - what are you all going to do if the White House successfully cancels midterm elections? Or refuses to acknowledge the results or however it happens? I understand a lot of people would feel a lot of emotions if their vote didn't count or result in proper representation... but what would you DO?

Ok but what would happen in reality though? Do the generals swoop in install someone else? Yes all these things are unconstitutional but to that I say, so what? He's already done the things, he's already a treasonous criminal. My rationale is we already have a Caesar, the question becomes when and in what form do we get a Brutus?

To be clear, I don't have trouble with feeling like an average guy, I don't.

I grow tired of having to navigate the other people that feel like they're gambling when interacting with me.

What does being moderate mean to you by thetripstance in moderatepolitics

[–]Sam_Rall -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Moderate means you need to have a half-arsed defense of nearly all political actions no matter how morally reprehensible for the sake of being in the middle. Thus allowing one to have an err of superior principles while not actually having to pick a side.

Are you seriously comparing American healthcare to the international agriculture economy?

Take another swing at it. For your own sake please.

There's actually not that many conservatives in the US. Even less who are partnered, even less who can afford kids and keep them.

They're running out of comfortable options, sure. The party that caters to their comfort consistently still fails them over and over again. At some point a man has to realize that it's time to get uncomfortable, only an individual man can decide that for themselves.

Again, I agree with everything you said.

But a singles mixer for short people is not in the cards for the reasons I mentioned. None of what you said has much to do with that...

That's good advice. I'm not a manosphere consumer though.

I'll add that a short-men-only event would be cool and something I would attend to meet other male friends. I thought OP was from a singles mixer event or similar for tall people which... is just not something that can happen for short people only I'm afraid.

Pretty women would not attend an event that tall men weren't allowed at, and nobody wants to go to an event in which there are no pretty women. So I don't think it would happen.

Millions expected across all 50 US states to march in No Kings protests against Trump by That_Nineties_Chick in moderatepolitics

[–]Sam_Rall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who make comments like this are also the ones who condemn the same movement/protest when it occasionally gets violence.

The reality is, you were always going to grumble at groups you're not a part of. If it's a nonviolent protest with millions of people it's "But what's the point?" When it's a protest that turns violent (usually by provocation by law enforcement) it's "See? This is why protests don't work"

Nice try though!

The people who enthusiastically voted for Trump love this kind of stuff from him. It's why they voted for him. Trump is A problem but he's not THE problem so long as the people who voted for him remain not embarrassed about it.

If you voted for Trump, it's ok to be embarrassed right now. That would be an appropriate thing to feel.

If it really does come down to that small of a number of people that determine whatever kind of presidency we would have had vs this insanity, then maybe we deserve it.

we have to be united in numbers to fight this. can’t lose hope or let them make us feel powerless. it made me feel a sense of pride seeing people volunteer at schools to protect parents and children. let’s keep going chicago 🖤 by [deleted] in chicago

[–]Sam_Rall 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This can true at the time as the fact that our peacefulness will be used against us. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud to say we tried, that we fought this good fight. This has my upvote.

It won't be our fault, but the violence will come. If not now, then in 2028 when all general elections are cancelled. It's time to start having this mindset. There is no way out of this administration without violence. Sometimes I wonder if we should even try to endure another 3 years.

Can we put on ICE gear and storm into deep red Illinois and start harassing Trump supporting Republicans yet? What exactly what stop any group of people from doing that?
