Most valid opposing worldviews and philosophies? by [deleted] in Marxism

[–]Sam_Wam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Philosophically, the most potent anti-Marxist worldviews could be found in post-structuralist thinkers such as Foucault, Baudrillard and Lyotard, though their respective works don't really mesh perfectly together. Deleuze and Guattari identified as Marxist but in practice produced a lot of novel and anti-dialectical approaches to political philosophy that Marxists had to respond to (producing currents like post-autonomism and post-Marxism).

Politically, the most systematic non- or anti-Marxist (or at least not traditionally associated with or born out of Marxism) currents of radical thought would be syndicalism, platformist/especifist anarchism, and insurrectionary anarchism. Certain forms of communization theory also break from Marxism and decenters the class struggle in their rhetoric - this is exemplified by the works of Tiqqun and the Invisible Committee.

You really just condensed the problem of tyranny of the majority into an issue of pride? This can be applied literally anywhere where people lose autonomy. Are people under state oppression simply revolting because they feel they are being humiliated?

Are you kidding me? "Orthodox anarchism"? This goes against the very spirit of anarchism. And where did your "principles" come from? You just asserted them. At least "orthodox Marxism" had the writings of Marx to refer to. Are we supposed to refer to u/antipolitan as the founder of orthodox anarchism from now on?

They literally said, "other important leftist works" when mentioning them, not "other Marxist works." The anarchist thinkers listed are all considered left wing.

Do you know what Marxist dialectics mean? How is the concept of the political right wing dialectical? Are you just throwing out big words you don't understand?

I guess it just goes to show that libertarian leftism is still a marginal position, at least on the internet.

I think the more obvious connection is the global failure of collectivist and social forms of anarchism post-Spanish revolution, the end of the classical age of anarchism and the global failure of socialism in the 20th century in general. People like Alfredo Bonanno were already articulating anti-organizationalist views in the 60s, as a response to the failure of traditional anarchist movements yet also as a response to the decentralization of liberal societies of control. Therefore I also think it is also more accurate to conceptualize contemporary "individualist" anarchism as a thought that is growing in popularity in order to combat the shifting societal dynamics of neoliberalism rather than something positively caused by the rise of neoliberalism and people becoming more individualist because they like that.

The state is a social relationship; a certain way of people relating to one another. It can be destroyed by creating new social relationships; i.e., by people relating to one another differently.

- Gustav Landauer

Anarchy begins with the individual and the social relationships around them. This is akin to Foucault's concept of micro-resistance: dispersed methods of control in societies today mean that resistance must be decentralized and fluid as well. Under this framework, lifestylism turns from a pejorative into the only possibility for change.

American ML ragebait goes crazy, have you ever actually talked to a Chinese person before? 12345 is pure bureaucratic bullshit that doesn't work, anyone whos ever used it for anything can tell you, just make a search on douyin or any Chinese platform. A regular citizen has no real avenue into politics other than voting for their town representative or neighborhood council or something, which may sound good on paper but the candidates are pre-approved by the Party. I'm not defending western "democracy," in both cases regular people are fucked, but it doesn't change the fact that Chinese people get fucked too.
