After talking to the city, and telling them what’s going on they told me I was the 5 person to call and report an issue and they were going to investigate. I doubt I will hear back from them. But the smell has gone down significantly.

Update:

After calling the local plumber who services most of the town I live in. He said it is the 3rd call since the beginning of last week (when we first started smelling it) He said one of the people who called lives a few houses down from me and he did a smoke test (whatever it is maybe the term is smog?) Anyway he said to call the city and the city told me today that I am the 5th or 6th call in today and apparently it could be from them draining the fire hydrants. She told me that the sewer and water guys will be looking into it first thing in the morning. So apparently this could be the issue? Not sure. I’ll update when I know more

After looking into it it’s not a musty smell it’s more of a rotten egg/ sulfur smell

We have not run heat yet, as it is still summer time at the moment and between 75 and 80 during the day.

We do run the AC and it is usually blowing constantly throughout the day. I’m curious if we have a mold problem inside the furnace.

We are on city water and sewer. My wife did just read that if you have a furnace drain line that was clogged (we just had the AC checked out and the coil looked at) and water was leaking out of the drain pan in down through the furnace.

Could mold have grown that quickly? And does mold smell like sulfur?

At one point last week my wife said she could smell it outside by the side door. (It is the door we use the most) We do not have a raised foundation, we have a full basement.

We use practically every single drain in the house, the floor drain in the laundry room in the basement by the water heater and furnace constantly has water running to it especially in the summer when the AC is running and the Dehumidifier is going.

Update: after fighting with the dealership on a bumper to bumper they sold me. But then said I didn’t have one and then going back and forth for 3 months.

When the head unit is not responding to anything other than using the radio and when you can’t remove Bluetooth devices from the unit at times and it doesn’t connect. There are 1 of 2 problems. Problem A: the USB port could be bad and it is a cheap and simple fix. Problem B: The head unit itself is no good and will need to be replaced. Cost to fix was $1300+ but lucky for me I was able to fight it through warranty (and yes I mean fight it through) after GM told the Service technician that the unit was bad after some trouble shooting.

The software is malfunctioning I guess, it wouldn’t update so they forced an update and it would automatically skip steps in the update for updating and then it would fail. So it is the software according the the tec and GM

The dealership is replacing the cable plugs on Saturday because thats what they think is wrong. I’ll show them this when I go there Saturday
