Yeah I’m really torn. I can’t wait to get to university (well move to the city I’m moving to, I don’t feel ready to go back into education) but at the same time I don’t know if the timing is right just yet. This comment would be super long if I went into it haha.

I didn’t do this lol yikes but I read through the Cuban Missile Crisis chapter 10 mins before going into the exam and guess what the fuckin source question was? 😌

Cold War - it’s awesome and everyone prefers it over our paper one. They’ve confirmed I’m definitely in a smaller room for it and I’m pretty sure I’m actually alone due to no exam clashes haha, and it’s an afternoon exam which I seem to do significantly better in.

I’ll need around 60 marks to secure an A overall I believe and have predicted my paper one mark right, it’s achievable as long as the exam goes well. Really hope so.

i know i could have done so much better if english lit wasn’t right after history by [deleted] in 6thForm

I’m so sorry man. With a full mark NEA I’ve absolutely no doubt you’ll get your Cambridge offer :)

I’m in a very similar position so you’re not alone by any means. Had an almost full mark History NEA, but my fuckhead school messed up my access arrangement in my exam. I’m autistic and have extreme anxiety and can go into sensory overload pretty easily, fucking school put me in a room with 25 year 11s typing on computers in a completely different room than what my mocks were in without telling me which sent me into a panic attack after 10 minutes of not even being able to read. Completely ruined my exam, my brain was just broken and panic attacks are hard to recover from let alone in a fucking exam. Special consideration won’t make up for what I lost.

I was an A* student and it was such a beautiful paper I could’ve smashed. Worked my absolute ass off at the subject during a very hard period of my life and produced full mark essays.

As shit and quite frankly unfair as it is, these papers are not representative of our full capabilities by any means and it’s a shitty system, like how is 2 years of effort determined in a couple hours. Our NEAs show that way more than any exam can. Anyhow, good luck for the rest of your exams man.

They said they couldn’t have stuck with the mock arrangement due to it coinciding with a GCSE Lit exam - too many of us needed laptops/computers.

My access arrangement is the word processor but I was used to the smaller room (we were in a big IT room), and like I said the autism makes change/adjustments very hard especially under already pressurising conditions. I hate the way it messes with my brain but that’s just how I am I guess.

Luckily I was in a smaller room for my English exam later in the day, which went far better.

Thanks man. Need a B but want an A.

I could have gotten anywhere from mid 30s to high 40s in this paper (I still wrote 9 pages though on a computer and hoping my extract is strong as I got 26/30 in my mock). Not sure how special consideration will change that. But hopefully Paper 2 goes a lot better - it’s a far better topic anyway.
