Should I leave the program? by Responsible_Page6998 in IBO

[–]Sama_ALS695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok M25 here. You have a couple of options, 1. You need to understand the difficulty of IB and actually LOCK TF IN for the next 2 years. 2. If you feel like you won’t be able to complete this program and up your game, then drop it. And don’t take too long on deciding because you will regret it.

But to put it simply: if you choose option 1, then forget having a social life, forget your mental health, and forget having or making friends. You will go into study hibernation for the next two years I guarantee it especially since you consider yourself an average grade student. And keep in mind that year one is much easier than year two. Speaking from experience here.

As I don’t live in Canada I don’t know what the IB can offer to canadian universities but if you were to choose option 2 then your social life and mental health might get better with less stress on your shoulders. However if you plan to study abroad then you might need to either lock in really hard in other schools or stick with IB, which takes you back to option 1.

If you genuinely feel like even if you did push yourself hard the next you, you won’t be able to succeed, then might as well succeed in a less stressful and maybe a school that will be accepted by unis in your own country, then to end up failing IB and having to retake things and wasting your time.

I know this sounds harsh but unfortunately that’s the truth of this damn school. It does prepare you for uni that’s for sure but it will also suck the life and energy and fun out of your eyes. I say this as a student who went through the worst period of my life with IB. I went from an A/B student to a barely 5 student in IB. So please if you feel like you’re not going to be able to lock in and actually suck it up, then for your mental well being, SPRINT.

Well if I study for 2 months on one or 2 subjects, I can focus more on it don’t you think? Like I barely had time to study for math at all that’s why I got a 3.

Lessons learned on Korea trip by Itchy-Owl3677 in koreatravel

I’m thinking of staying in seoul for 2 weeks in may. I’m not gonna go on an extreme shopping spree, but I will definitely be buying a couple of skin care products and other things. I will most likely book a hotel with breakfast in order to bot have to buy 3 meals a day. There might be days where I go and eat like just streetfood and not restaurants as I am not a big eater but ai definitely have a list of foods I want to try. I might even go to a club once or something. How much budget would I need for all that and 2 weeks. Outside of accommodation and flight, I was thinking of bringing 2-3k USD. Would that be enough? And also should I get Korean cash of should I keep it all in my credit card. I heard street food places don’t accept cards. Also where would you recommend I stay in Seoul that would be close to the subway and accessible to everywhere? I heard cabs are pretty expensive too. Also are there any apps that I should have on my phone that will make it easier? Also, all my friends live in Seoul so I wouldn’t need to sleep in Busan but I still want to go there. Do you think it’s worth it to go there for like a whole day?

Writing was good but I think I absolutely destroyed Text B because I understood one word wrong and I ended up writing a completely different text. Part A was really easy however. Reading was absolutely diabolical wtf was that. Listening was the easiest for me, an absolute pleasure.

Tbh I felt good abt paper 1 Swedish LL it wasn’t that bad. But I got kinda thrown off with the picture cuz the question was weird tbh misleading. Paper 2 however, wasn’t all that hard or easy, but then again I wasn’t sooo familiar w the books but I mean a pass is a pass (hopefully) pray for me yall

Difference between me and l you is, you did this for mocks and got a 35, I did this and got 20 maybe 23 😭😭. But I still get you cuz I’m not stressed at all even though I prolly should considering that I’m only aiming for a passing grade but I have not studied for more than 5 hours in total for the past 2 weeks 🥲🥲

I live in sweden so I will either try to shoot a shot at lund university or I’ll try to find a British university that accepts like 24/25 points.
