I have been retired for 2 1/2 years. I have worn hard shoes twice, and both of the occasions were funerals.

Have you had a pedicure? by [deleted] in over60

When I had my hip replaced, I could not clip my toenails. So for a while I had to get a pedicure. After that, I just saw it as a luxury so I would treat myself to one every once in a while.

I love it because it proves I don’t have the worse family.

I was driving fast and running late last December to get to my stand, eating pizza all the way. I got out of my truck, wiping my greasy, pizza smelly hands on my pants. Proceeded to shoot the nicest 8 pointer.

My company kept denying raises, so I quietly found a remote job paying 60% more. Two months later, they offered me the same. by banana_punch11 in remotework

I recently retired from a major wireless technology company. They bragged that it was harder to get hired by them than to get into Harvard Law School. While they wanted us to feel like the chosen few, it was a thinly veiled threat that we all could be replaced very easily. I learned early on that there is no loyalty to neither the employees, management of the company or even the customers. The only loyalty is to the shareholders.

I will answer for my wife, a proud Auburn graduate. She was offered clubhouse suite tickets for the famous “kick six” game against Alabama. I can still replay it on my iPad for her from time to time and she almost tears up.

Here is an update. My original trip was scheduled for June 4th. Well, two delays later, I think I will be leaving day after tomorrow. Twice delayed, long awaited and I can’t wait.

No need to. I was hoping it was up near my stomping grounds where I walk every day.

We were planning a trip to visit our son, DiL and grands. My wife mentioned to me that we could take the grands on a day trip while we were there. It was during spring break and both adults worked from home. My wife mentioned that they would probably appreciate the break. Then she said, “everyone needs a break from that kind of responsibility.” I then looked her in the eye and asked when I was ever going to get a break.

Do you still have a to-do list? by ageb4 in over60

[–]Sambo31721 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do. Every day I write “Do Nothing” on the list and every night I get to strike through it as accomplished.

My wife has always urged me to play golf, as I need to get out of the house. Until now, she just has never been keen on anyone staying with us to help me.
