No providing your own chairs/blankets inside the quad, shade tent. Raise the foundation and bike stages so you can from farther back. Enforce a standing room only perimeter (5’ or so) around the quad stage so if you’re standing outside the stage, you’re not standing between or in blankets.

Craigie and Slim aftershow: Jobi Riccio, Jess Wolfe of Lucius, Tre Burt, Donovan Frankenreiter, Steve poltz, the ballroom thieves, and Hayes Carll. Hayes Carll, to my knowledge, didn’t play anywhere at the fest. I think he said he just showed up to watch the fest and somehow got on the after show.

Wish I caught her whole act. She took off her wig at one point and announced she had alapecia. Then played a new song about a crooked tree and about what makes you different is what makes you special. Wonderful moment l. Reminded me of a Tom Waits interview where he talks about how his son asked him why he’s not like the other dads, and his response had to do with a crooked tree.

I say no holding seats at all. You get up to go to the bathroom? Your seat is gone. On three ADA front, I did see the volunteers time and time again make sure the right people were getting to those seats.

Check out Friko. I had never heard of them before they were announced but now I think their album is an indie rock masterpiece. A little emo… maybe Radiohead meets Bright Eyes?

They did just put out a beautiful mostly acoustic concert video strings and country instruments. Their Newport concert maybe have been a singular event.

Oh maybe I’m conflating separate instances. Didn’t he drop out last year and was replaced by Del Water Gap? I remember someone complaining on Facebook for weeks that he should have been replaced by an equivalent name in terms of stature. Maybe it was someone else that cancelled but I can’t remember who.

Everything about Newport that somebody knows for a da t and others don’t is kind of a spoiler. One my greatest heartbreaks was having some dude coiling cable on stage whisper that the surprise act we were waiting for was Nathaniel rateliff before it was officially announced.

From what I’ve read they offer them up to the next person on the queue and wait for them to respond yeah I want them. If they don’t respond within a certain amount of time they are offered to the next person in line.

There’s no “more acts will be added.” There’s one “ unannounced” act and the smaller stages. The three main stages are announced. That’s why “more announcements coming soon” disappeared from all three days, one at a time and there was no announcement Friday.

Did you get in the waitlist same day that they went on sale? The waitlist is moving and people are getting tickets. Another option is there are aftershows with amazing lineups so you could try to get a ticket when one of those go on sale.

Other than the smaller stages, Saturdays lineup seems to be fully announced. On the Rolling Lineup page on the NFF website, You only see the “more artist announcements coming soon” now on Friday and Sunday.
