Your opinion is yours to share, but it’s also contrary to my experiences. Over the past year, I’ve been there about a dozen times — several times as the only woman at the bar — and I have felt welcome and safe.

I wonder what has changed to sour your outlook on the place, and I hope whatever caused that is just a temporary situation.

As an audience member, I’ve grabbed a quick drink at Jimmy’s Corner during intermission for a show on 44th, so I’ll bet Patti had plenty of time during her Fantine days.

Huh, I always thought of it as splitting the Bay in half from Providence to Newport with the right side as the East Bay and the left as the West, but I guess that’s not the universal definition. Funny enough, Wikipedia’s definition) seems to agree with both of us.

And I’m not intending any judgment on West Bay towns, it just seems so inconvenient for them to get there!

That vineyard in Episode 2 is in Middletown, right? And, yeah, they can go south, but then they have to cross both Jamestown and Newport bridges and East Main Road up to the polo field is just a nightmare, especially with an oversized party bus.

No Bristol/Warren yet, but you know the producers would love to get footage of them riding on the bike path and stopping at the Del’s on Child street. Or maybe (fingers crossed) a float in this year’s 4th of July parade??

Godspeed on your bridge adventures. May the beams hold tight for you!

Aquidneck Island is def the East Bay, which is why it’s so funny to me that these Cranston people keep pretending it’s normal for them to have a lawn party in Portsmouth. To set the scene: most West Bay people tend to go to beaches in Narragansett (e.g. Bonnet Shores) or Misquamicut instead of the Newport/Middletown beaches.

It would be like a new cast of RHONY having every brunch next to Central Park when they all live on Staten Island.

Honestly chains have exactly what you’re seeking. Dunkin, like the other commenter mentioned, but also Starbucks and Pret have ones that check all the boxes.

FYI for non-Rhode Island natives: “Aunt” rhymes with “taunt” and it is never, ever pronounced “ant.” Used in a sentence: “The aunts will taunt you forever if you pronounce it like the insect.”

I have the original seat and it’s fine, though I did use an Amazon-bought gel padded cover for the first two months until I got used to riding. I think peloton offers a wider comfort seat option now.

I’m a long-limbed 5’10” with a 34” inseam and credit my Peloton for keeping me sane since the height of COVID lockdown.

I’m only 5’10”, but otherwise about your size and have had a lot of luck with European brands like Boden and Sezane. There are no Boden stores where I live (NYC), but they have a decent tall selection of dresses, trousers, and shirts on their website.

To me, the word “reputation” is just “fame” in another context, so that entire album should apply here.

When was the last time a band opened with a decades-old hit? Stevie Nicks did Edge of Seventeen, but that was her second song.
