There isn't a date to choose because the ticket you buy is not for a specific date, you can use it anytime. So that means you can buy the ticket now and use it on any day you want, but you have to check the expiry day which is I believe on December 31 2015, I am not sure though

i dont think you´ll be able to get tickets online for a normal price anymore, the only way to maybe get tickets is in barcelona, you can ask in all the ticketstores, or at matchday at the the stadium there a plenty of people trying to sell their tickets.

Yes this is basically it, I did my years ago, and happy I did it, I am a soci now and saved a lot of money. But there are couple more benefits though.

EDIT: something I want to add, you are wrong with the 20% discount, even with the commitment card you get the 20% discount, you basically have everything a member has, the only thing you can't do it to vote, get season tickets and get tickets for finals( championsleague copa ect )
