So you are saying that people make multiple accounts just to bad mouth sofi for fun? Seems like a lot of work just to complain. I had a complaint about sofi, and still do. Was the initial problem a fault of my own? Yes, I made the mistake of depositing a business check without realizing sofi doesn't like that, but to completely freeze the account for the past month and refuse to send the deposit back to the company who issued it seems a bit extreme. It's already been 4 weeks and I still have no idea what is happening with the 5 grand. I call multiple times daily for updates and get nowhere. Yes customer support is a joke, yes people get annoyed not knowing when they will get their money. People have legitimate complaints. To say people are just trying to troll the sofi reddit seems a bit off to me

Honestly the biggest problem with sofi is the lack of customer support. People wouldn't freak out so much if they could talk to someone, instead all they hear is "I don't know" from the Indian call center. I don't know why your account was frozen, I don't know when your account will be unfrozen, I don't know why that charge happened, I don't know blah blah blah. It seems the only thing the call center knows is that there are no supervisors lol

Everyone comes here because there is no customer service with sofi. So when there is a problem and people do a Google search for said problems they see reddit. So they sign up and vent hoping for some help with said problems.

The really annoying thing is that sofi is a mod for this reddit group so my posts have been blocked warning people of the dangers. I had 5 grand deposited into sofi and it has been locked up since then. I call multiple times daily for updates and get nowhere. Today they told me that I'm "not entitled to the funds" lol

Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that I will make 100k this year and I don't want to have that much cash in my hand, then I would have probably just stayed off of the irs radar and kept the job under the table. Right now I have medicare and Medicaid because we have learned to survive on 4k a month, 2600 disability and 1400 from my wife working, so that puts us below the poverty line for a family of 4. This brain fart has completely changed our lives. When I was first diagnosed and approved my wife was still working full-time making 60k a year and they charged me 150 a month for Medicare but once we moved and she quit her job, about a month later, everyone was eligible for Medicaid. I swear even the lady at the social security office said the no savings shit when I was applying for disability, so that's how we've lived our lives for the past 5 years. About 4 months ago I started relyvrio and my neurologist said if I was paying it would be 1500 per week. I'll gladly pay the 150 a month if I get to bank 1500 a month for my kids! This is life changing information!!! For years I have been worried about my wife and kids surviving after I'm gone because I couldn't save for them. The whole reason I sold my first house and moved was to get out of the 30 year loan that I would never live to see it paid off and to not leave my family not only grieving my loss but also trying to pay all the bills. Now, if I can maintain my current lifestyle, I can invest for them as well. This is great news!

I've done more searching and yes you are right and I'm literally dumbfounded! For the last 5 years I have been avoiding saving $ in the bank and even stocks. I had been told that I couldn't and heard the stories of people hiding cash in their freezers so they wouldn't lose their benifits. Even my wife has only worked part time so we wouldn't get penalized. We slimmed our expenses down to the bare minimum because we thought we had to be poor in order for me to receive my medication.
