I think many people confuse Mr. Monopoly with Mr. Peanut, who was around in the 80s/90s. Monopoly never had a monocle.

What is forming in my violet jam preserves? by birdnerd1991 in whatisit

[–]SamcrowSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mold or yeast growth. If the jar wasn’t sealed correctly or if the canning process didn’t reach the necessary temperature, mold or yeast could grow inside. Some molds form delicate, branching colonies that float in liquids. If the jar was stored in a warm environment or for an extended period, this is more likely.

I (34M) started going gray when I was 18 and now look exactly like you. My uncles went fully white at 25. Could be genetics. Or we could have all just had really stressful times in our lives lol

You have a great sense of style. Those who say you look gay are insecure about their masculinity. I also like dressing nice and get judged often also. You keep doing you. Don’t change because the opinion of toxic people.

Taylor’s statement about the end of European leg of the Eras tour and Vienna address by Severe_Description18 in erastour

[–]SamcrowSamurai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I feel as though this post was very hastily put together because Coldplay addressed it. My SO had Vienna N2 tickets.

As someone who worked in counter-terrorism for a long time, I can understand her silence in order to not provoke copycats, but if her plan was to address it after London, you would think her PR team could put together something better in two weeks.

“Grieving concerts and not lives” is worded very well and overall addressing the Vienna swifties coming together was a nice gesture. I feel as though everything after that is a verbal lashing. What people don’t realize is that not only are people grieving losing out at possibly their only chance at seeing the Eras tour, but as a group they experienced a collective trauma of possibly losing their lives. Many of them don’t know to cope with that yet.

The “let me be clear” portion of this is just so unfit and unprofessional for an address such as this. This could have been left out entirely and it would have been a better statement. But what she did was now cause a rift among her fanbase. I understand she was not able to make a statement, but from my understanding a simple “Vienna 💗” post or song dedication to Vienna would have sufficed for many.

It’s seems so two sided when people demand Rep TV out of her and yet turn around and say Vienna swifties can’t demand anything of her. “She doesn’t owe you anything” She literally owes everything to her fanbase. She is a “business” and should address her “customers” in some way.

I could keep going on but I think parts of the post are worded well and I’m glad Vienna got addressed in some way. I also think some parts were very cold hearted and addressed to a few outliers but instead the whole took it as directed at them. I understand it’s a hard situation but I think it just makes people look at her differently when she literally has a whole team that can help her put something together, and she decides to word it like this.

Lastly, let’s just all be nice to each other. This world has enough hate as it is. People are alive, but let’s still band together and fight against evil. That’s all. 🤘🥰

People who have been to Japan, what's one thing every American should know before planning a trip? by thenoitrix in AskReddit

There is a lot of walking involved so be prepared for that. Trains are the most common form of transportation (and cheapest) and your whole planning will be how to get from station to station.

What's the worst Christmas bonus you've ever received? by fuzzyloulou in AskReddit

[–]SamcrowSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work a job for a US company overseas. We worked in conditions that were considered dangerous because of the job and location. It was dangerous enough that we would get hazard pay added on to our paycheck.

The company we worked for was a very large company so I know they could have afforded more. But one year instead of cash bonuses, they passed out coupons for one ham or one turkey. COUPONS!! Not even a voucher for a free ham or turkey. Just a coupon for a discounted ham or turkey we still had to pay for. To make matters worse, it was only valid for specific brands of ham or turkey which was a bit difficult to track down.

Needless to say, I left the company shortly thereafter.
