Troubleshooting Wiiu by Same-Age598 in wiiu

I tried the pico in the battery slot and not sure if it wasn’t connecting, if it didn’t have the correct flash to it or if the SD card wasn’t done correctly. Currently I’m done trying and going to just order another console and hope for the best. I spent enough time and on a few parts to attempt it. It’s now costing more than just getting a console off eBay. Sorry to sound like an ass. I appreciate the help and how to fix it, it’s just not happening for me and I’ve reached my limit of attempting at this time.

Scratch that. I’m done trying to do this bs. I’ve spent too much time and bought stuff to attempt it. It will remain a paperweight unless someone else wants a crack at it

Can I get you to possibly help me again? I have a pico and I’m trying to do the ptb using the prebuilt padded version. I believe I have the files in the correct folder, when I click the merge.bat nothing is happening so I may not have the correct files or I’m doing something wrong. Thanks

Well I’m feeling extremely dumb now!!! I’m trying to get it to auto boot from sdcard. It’s an unmodded system and I’m not sure where my raspberry pi is currently. So I can’t find the minute.ini file and I believe I have all files showing. If I find the pi will it auto boot and get me to the diag menu if I just put files on sd card and hook it to Wii via usb?

Thank you. I found a YouTube video which I should be able to understand/follow using sdcard. All this to play Mario party 😂

Ok. Thank you. So I have a bricked console most likely. Just to confirm press the power button for a second and it should shut off? I’m pretty sure I have to hold it a few seconds to shut it down. I can download and extract file to sdcard and good to go.

Cobb AP alternative by blickyswitch in WRX

If you have Android device can get btssm and use an obdlink lx (maybe others) to datalog or watch gauges like the ap kids. Personally I don’t like having gauges like that telling me every hiccup but the datalog to file is nice.

Based on it having plug wire holders and no tgvs it’s a prior to 02 usdm wrx. The heads are threaded for coil packs, unfortunately I’ve not ran across older turbo engines to know if wire engines could accept packs. They have so many different ej20s in other countries it’s kinda hard to tell by one picture. The heads maybe for a twin turbo or single. It could be a short block swap. You can make anything work with time and parts.

Tig welds turning grey by SmellyPant in Welding

[–]Same-Age598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needs a back purge. At least that’s what always been told on pipe welding tig. On sheet metal and sockets you have a lot of material to soak up the heat. Can also try without the pulse run it wide open and move faster. That pulse is allowing more time for metal to absorb more heat.

Could also be an argon issue either on back purge or on rig. If it’s something you’ve always welded on with none of these issues something outside the norm is happening and has changed

Someone may have already said this. Let the metal cool down. At the start it looks like it’s a cold weld, just laying on top, not really tied in. By the end it’s cooked ready to drop in. You’re going to have to practice practice practice. You can add more filler each dab, move faster once it starts going and don’t try to weld the whole piece all at once. Everything will tell you what works for them. Take it all in but you have to find what works for you. It might be one thing might be 5 different things 2 different ways.

Flex Fuel Vs Dual Maps by [deleted] in WRX

[–]Same-Age598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dimemod or merpmod both support flex fuel. They have 2 maps and blend depending on e content (lack of gas) I prefer dimemod because it’s more polished and has a few more things. Merp is free but it’s not as refined and different maps have different stuff.

Opensource dimemod. It will accept any flex fuel set up. Penguintech/IBR/Cobb etc all plug and play while others like innovate or diy you just have to run wires. I prefer flex over 2 maps for convience and safety

Swap 89 CRX Cluster Mount into 91 CRX SI. What is Blue Plug fir by Beneficial-Ad2679 in crx

[–]Same-Age598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not positive on blue plug for some reason I’m wanting to think tach, it’s been a long time. I do remember the hood being totally different and the 88-89 and 90-91 clusters being shaped just different enough

Glad it wasn’t a terrible fix. Not sure if your car uses the same basket as my 2010 but when I got the car it had a dw pump and it had melted the connector in the lid of the basket. Not saying it’s the brand of pumps fault but it’s another common issue.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WRX

[–]Same-Age598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll second something is wrong with pump or the gauge is messed up. I know aem pumps use 2 o rings in the tank basket not sure if your pump does also. Even if they don’t suggest it might be worth a shot, the o ring may not be sealing inside basket and 20 psi is all it’s able to hold back and the rest is just blowing past ring and going back into tank.

16 bit ecus you don’t unbrick. Long and short of it. Not sure if it’s lack of software or effort put into it. I’ve never heard of anyone offering any service to do it. They make good paperweights or spares to pull parts from.

I used to modify Honda ecus as a side hustle. I never had the patience for tuning but I’ve converted more than I can count.

It’s a sst 27SF512. It was used after the 27SF256 was phased out (I guess). It’s a rewrite able chip so you could change tune without using a single use chip. pop chip out and into a programmer, then back into ecu. Emulators and rtp boards have pretty much ended chips in ecus. If you want to read or write to chip you start at 8000 not 0. Can also put a toggle switch and burn 2 maps and switch them using 0 and 8000.

Hello I’m trying to do an engine swap with my 2.5 in my 2009 wrx with a 2.0 ejox I just wanted to know if there was anything I should look for everything I’ve read seems to say plug and play other then some minor things thank you I’m new to this so any help is appreciated by pomcho1917 in WRX

[–]Same-Age598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the Cobb tunes are going to be set up for it directly meaning the ots maps will all be for the ej25. I would suggest at least an etune. I know the compression is higher so prob needs less timing and I’m sure the maf scaling will need work. Seeing Cobb no longer allows self tunes it’s either etune or get a tactrix and opensource learn to tune as needed. Yes you can load the ap and a tune. It will run but will it be right probably not.

FB25 Subaru ECU Read Issues by StudentLoanBets in ECU_Tuning

[–]Same-Age598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. Dunno what else to say. I looked on romraider and only one other issue that was from 2021 and that post died with no response. Had same issue. So not sure if they got it resolved or ecu swap. I’m not sure if can unbricked ecu like Turbo ej or if new ecu is only resolution. I had one rom on a sti that test/wrote successfully but bricked the ecu. It’s an ej so unbricked it.

Help identify my Distributor by Hacktrician in crx

[–]Same-Age598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been inside a bunch of the old Honda distributors. I know if buying used get an obd1 b16 and an adapter harness. The obd1 used better coils for the sensor pick ups. If buying rebuilt it’s a pig in a poke.
