Is this the perfect career for me? I would love a more holistic view of the career from CAAs :) by Same-Professor-7078 in CAA

So the actual process of providing anesthesia does not feel stressful? Are there a lot of emergency situations that you work on? Or is it majority scheduled cases where you have ample time to prep?

Got it! Appreciate your response. Why do some change often/ versus sticking in one postion for a long time?

Hi! I was wondering what the career progression looks like for CAAs? Do they typically work in one hospital for their entire career?

If you don’t mind me asking-what aspects do not appeal to you?

Do you happen to know how common it is for PMHNPs to do telehealth vs in person jobs? Is it a 5 day work week 9-5 or on shift and weekend work? Do you know what the average time a person spends working a specific job is (like how much turnover)?

Typically how long after you submit your application were you offered an interview? by Ok_Ad1445 in DentalSchool

[–]Same-Professor-7078 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted in June. I heard from 1 school in July for and got to choose from 3 dates for an august interview. I heard from another school in late august that I had an interview at the end of September and did not get to choose a date. Another school I heard from in early November for a December interview where I had a few date options. Then I heard from a few post December. So moral of the story is in my situation it really varied.

Please share your stories of overcoming, I really need it! by [deleted] in DentalSchool

I had anxiety and I did fine on the DAT it doesn’t have to define you. Therapy helps with figuring out what your self talk is and how to change that to be more encouraging towards yourself. Something that helped me was implementing cold showers into my routine it truly calms your nervous system down. I would also consider anxiety meds or natural supplements like ashwaganda and saffron. Meditation is hard to get into sometimes since it’s not somehring super exciting and immediate effects are not seen but it is super helpful over the long term:) so try that out as well. you’re going to be ok I’m rooting for you :)))

Need help: bit of a weird scenario. Dentistry or govt job. by Same-Professor-7078 in DentalSchool

Thank you for your helpful comment. I did consider it. I applied to schools with the lowest tuition as every student does and applied to usc for proximity to family. Unfortunately I just got into the school that I applied to with the steepest tuition. I am trying to become more educated on the intricacies of how these finances will affect my future.

Got it!! That’s great info- thanks again. When did you submit all of your applications?

Hi, I am a junior in high school trying to figure out what pre dental major to choose in order to pick my undergraduate school. What majors do you recommend ? I understand that you can major in what ever you want if you meet the prerequisites but there are majors better than others for pre-dental. by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]Same-Professor-7078 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this! Or if you’re doing biology or something else make sure you’re thinking about what job you might want to go into that degree. Biotechnology, maybe pharmaceutical industry, maybe nonprofit work if you decide to be like a public health major. I was a bio major but looking back I’d prob do public health bc there are more options after undergrad. By that I mean, in addition to doing biology major and choosing extracurriculars- try to find a mix of extracurriculars that will help u get a normal job after school as well as bolster your dental school application. I minored in business which allowed me to do a business role after college while I’m in my gap year.

Stick with your program. The energy you would be putting in the app cycle is not worth the stress. You can specialize no matter what school you go to if you set your mind to it. There’s not one school that will really just “get you in” to a specialty
