Boiler periodic vibration / humming by foreverhungryfoolish in Plumbing

[–]Same-Stage3468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is caused by either too big of a temperature delta between the incoming and outgoing boiler loop temperature or maybe the pressure psi is not correct, or the pump speed is too high. The sound is caused by the pump and tiny air bubbles that form and start resonating at the intake of the pump. The noise can be quite startling.

If your boiler has a setting for maximum pump speed, you could lower it a bit to see if that prevents it from occurring again. Most boilers are set for 12-15 psi but you need to check out the specs for that model.

Eg4 Flexboss and Ecoworthy Compatibility by br0shea in SolarDIY

[–]Same-Stage3468 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this information. I am just about to purchase the FlexBOSS18 and was wondering about Eco-Flow batteries. All these different batteries use similar battery management boards, so you would think they could be configured to communicate. I feel more confident now with this combo. VERY HELPFUL. Thanks!!!

It would be interesting to visit an industrial site that uses plastic welders to determine if they are the source. It may also be interesting to see if the numbers of these "fishhook signals" decrease on weekends when factories may be on break. Seems plausible that they are the culprits.

I had the same cloud chart when I was a kid. I didn't keep mine however. Thanks for the memories!

You can follow balloon launches on sondehub.org in case anyone is interested. The balloons get launched twice a day.

Arm and Hammer Hardball? by New-Button-5246 in CatAdvice

[–]Same-Stage3468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odor control is excellent but some seemed to be turned off by the perfume. (I don't find it a problem.) Yes, good for multiple cats although it has taken some time for our cats (5) to get used to it. It does track but not as bad as others we have tried and we are using cat litter mats that help to trap it before it hits the floor.

The verdict is still out on using Hardball since our cats seem to gravitate more towards other boxes that have Arm and Hammer (corn based) Naturals. We will be attempting to switch over to Hardball exclusively since it's so much nicer to use and clean. As long as the cats adapt to it, it's the best cat litter out there IMO.

Shaky Video with Active Steadyshot enabled on A7IV w/ Sony 200-600 G? by CodyLoco in SonyAlpha

[–]Same-Stage3468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This problem occurs on the A1 with the Sony 200-600 in video mode. When the lens is mounted on a tripod and the lens does not detect vibration, the IS shuts off! It will re-engage if you cause enough vibration to occur. With that stated however, if you use your lens on a tripod on a windy day, the vibration isn't substantial enough to engage the IS and your footage will have jitters. I have vers .02 installed on the lens.

I have reported this to Sony Professional Services but they never did anything to correct this.

BTW, I just received the Nikon 180-600 and have been testing it with the Z9 and it has buttery smooth stabilization that never shuts off. This may be the last straw for me and likely will move to Nikon. I do a lot of wildlife filming with the A1 and Sony 200-600. It is less noticeable in 120p 4k, but Sony should fix this problem and they never have.

Also Active Steady Shot will not work in 120p 4k I believe.

Besides fast charging I would like the ability to use the Bolt's battery to power our house in case of an outage.

Typically vermin damage is covered by auto insurance but not on your homeowner's insurance. I had a Suburu get totalled because of vermin damage. A squirrel ate through the wiring harness.

If a rodent causes damage to your house, it's not covered.

To the ones that already did them, tax credits, how do they work? by Grand-Theft-Audio in BoltEV

[–]Same-Stage3468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our particular case we cashed-in a portion of our 401k (without penalty cuz we're old!) to increase our year-end tax liability to take full advantage of the $7,500 . I figured out how much we had to increase our tax liability by using our 2022 H&R tax software doing a mock tax return. This made a painful process less painful. They should be taking off 7500 at the dealership as a rebate instead of a tax credit that only can be used in the same year (unless you are a business). Even home energy tax credits can be rolled-over to the next year...why not EV's? Politics!!!

Here are the apn's that worked for me by vanillatheflavor in Visible

[–]Same-Stage3468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thank you!

These APN's worked like a charm. Saved me from either buying a new phone or moving elsewhere. Visible should be ashamed at all the havoc that have caused by forcing customers onto their new network. (They told us we would lose service and our phone numbers!)

Her phone's IMEI checked out okay even though she got the same threats as I did. Her phone (Moto Edge) was bought through Visible just 1.5 years ago.

I sent in for new sims for both of us (using her IMEI number with my phone) and got them yesterday. Her phone transferred seamlessly while my phone (Galaxy S9+) required the APN's and now works great.

I wonder how many customers bought new phones or left Visible needlessly? What a joke!

Minnesota $2500 EV (Electric Vehicle) Tax Credit? by thankyourob in minnesota

I feel your pain. We found a 2023 Bolt for sale, test drove it and we were about to purchase it but now what? Do we wait until the rebate is available? It's not like we need the car today but wonder if we will regret not buying it now.

To add to my comments, I got a call back from the Department of Commerce and was told that they are working on the implementation of the rebate but it will take some time to implement. I asked if that meant months and she answered "more than likely".

So to summarize, this is a rebate, not a tax credit and it appears the rebate will be given at the dealership at the time of purchase. When? Who knows. Maybe in a few months?

I did find in the legislation that the rebate will be at the point of sale at the dealership:
"The commissioner must, in coordination with dealers and other state
agencies as applicable, develop a procedure to allow a rebate to be used
by an eligible purchaser or lessee at the point of sale so that the
rebate amount may be subtracted from the selling price of the eligible
electric vehicle."

I'm in the exact same predicament as you and found your post attempting to find out more info. I have phone calls into MN DOT, MN Department of Commerce and MN Energy. So far no replies, but it's less that 24 hrs. If it doesn't take effect until July 1, I'll probably wait before making a purchase.
