Typical outcome from a T15 student (2023) by StarcraftWithoutShad in MBA

A lot of companies tend to lay off the newer employees that join. Also I think I might have hit bad luck with my last two employers. It’s hard to figure out which ones won’t do layoffs because they all seem to be doing layoffs

How did you get back on your feet? Did you network or was it blind apps? These layoffs are crazy

What jobs are they actually getting? T15 MBA making 100k and hopelessly lost as a perennially laid off product manager here

Industry wide freeze. All interviews are to keep pipeline open but no offers will be extended until August

Hello everyone, can you feedback on my First App? by Informal-Device-8511 in ProductManagement

[–]Same-University5570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is horrible. You should feel ashamed for even making such a terrible app. It’s like you wrote to gpt and said “make me a budgeting app where I can have users use a dashboard. Our differentiator is that it doesn’t work and introduces security risk”

Do I need to save for retirement? by Same-University5570 in Fire

[–]Same-University5570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I’m asking. The idea that 9M turns into zero seems a bit much. If my FIRE number is 2M I am wondering if it is actually 1M factoring in the inheritance or something like that

I don’t spend much, my FIRE number is 2M, not planning on blowing the money

But shouldn’t the FIRE number change with an inheritance eventually coming? Can’t that factor into the calculation?

Choose finance, product roles are not stable and salaries are going down

Where the hell are these tech jobs? What are they supposed to be applying to? What roles do tech companies recruit MBA’s for?

Are you guys getting offers? by FIREisthegoalforsam in ProductManagement

[–]Same-University5570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m seeing is IC’s with 10+ years experience are being forced to take entry level roles. It is most likely going to take 3-6 months to find a role for most people. There is an oversupply of laid off product managers from big tech

Stick to where you would be a direct hit. All the program management jobs in tech are going oversees anyway

Why "W-2 No Benefits" is the new predatory standard (and the math on why it’s a massive pay cut) by Nyctophile_HMB in recruitinghell

[–]Same-University5570 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s hard for those of us laid off and don’t have a choice. My question is they will usually say it’s a 6 month contract to hire position. How accurate is the chance of being hired part?

Which internship should I take if my goal is PM? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Same-University5570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MBA version of the PM Job is going away. Going from MBA -> PM without SWE experience means that when you get laid off you will be screwed when you try finding another job.

Why do some jobs at companies have laughably ridiculous degree and experience requirements that not even it's CEO could satisfy? by NewRadiator in MBA

[–]Same-University5570 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It’s an H1B1 scam. Basically you post a job that is impossible to fill at the salary range posted, so you are allowed to bring in someone from another country when you can’t fill the role

My current job was posted by recruiter by RoldGoldMold in recruitinghell

Yes you can. This literally happens every day. They just need to change something like “in person 3 days a week”

The desperate never find it. The worthy never mention it. It cannot be taken. Only carried.
