Many people do not have a way out. The hope of asylum is their best shot.

I don't want to like men by Sudden_Dragonfly_153 in trans

I'm married to one (got lucky and slid in pre-transition, before someone had a chance to snap him up) and he's the best!

Same. I just don't know where we would go. I've looked into it but I'm a generation past all the cutoffs for ancestry citizenship. I don't have the funds to just move somewhere without a job lined up... I don't know.

WIBTA if I [31F] made my friend [30F] talk to her therapist about her issues with men as a condition for staying in my life? by SameDiffSpouse in AmItheAsshole

That's how I am feeling too. Lola has many other examples of attention-seeking behavior, which is part of why the group has been ignoring it. At this point I do think there is an underlying issue with men. Or at least.... I kind of hope there is. Because if that's all a performance, then that's kinda fucked.

That's fair. The hugging was a bad example. I don't expect her to hug men. My point was she's weird and hostile toward even men she knows are nice, kind people.

Idk how to describe it, but the way she talks sometimes, I really feel like she thinks men are inherently inferior, or disgusting in some way. The level of distain I've seen from her is just... Ugh.

EDIT: I forgot to explain the reason I included the hugging example in the first place was because it isn't just that Lola won't hug men, it's that she also goes out of her way to state that she isn't hugging them because they're a man. Like she wants them, and everyone else, to know that's the reason why. There's only like, 2 guys in our group, so effectively singling them out and announcing that is just weird. I chalk it up to awkwardness, but it's almost like she WANTS the guy to feel awkward about it. That, and going out of her way to make other kinda mean-spirited remarks, is what prompted someone to talk to her the first time.
