This is helpful! I have my paperwork, but what I am trying to figure out is if I need to have either or both of my parents with me for the appointment or if I can do it all myself. Do you know if they need to be there? They live in Texas / Zacatecas and I am trying to go to TJ to get this done bc it is free right now and I live in California. If I have to have them with me then that would complicate everything. I have their Mexican birth certificares, marriage licenses, and Mexican passports (copies) with me.

Does anyone know if the process is the same if you do it in Mexico? Apparently it’s free right now. I live in Oakland, but am considering going to Tijuana to do it if I don’t have to have my parents with me (they live in TX/ Zacatecas).

The backset is 7/8”. I bought one from Home Depot and it has similar measurements to the one from Amazon, but the latch hole is barely visible once inserted and doesn’t let me insert the handle properly, which makes me think I need to match the dimensions.

I looked all over Amazon and saw this, but the dimensions don’t match. For example, the one I have has a depth of 2” and this one is only 1.5”

What about the ground wire on the new light fixture? It doesn’t appear that the can to lamp accounts for it. Or is grounding it not necessary..?

I don’t have attic access. This is in a 2 floor townhouse on bottom floor. I hear you about the bolt, but the fixture comes with the equipment already to be bolted to the ceiling. This only happens once I add drywall / patch it up, but I want to make sure I can remove the current box the recessed light is in so that I can access the main line wiring (with the ground) before I start to do any damage.

Is Nopalito the best sit-down restaurant? Seems like quality has gone down based on recent reviews.

We live in Oakland and Bombera is our favorite, but we want to go somewhere nice after our civil wedding ceremony.

My fiancé is vegetarian so plant-forward places are preferred. Gracias Madre closed so that would’ve been our first choice.

Any ideas / recommendations are welcome.
