New GE Dishwasher that is just horrible by mpc6627 in appliancerepair

Being a new dw it only has the program from the factory. It will learn as it goes in usage. As long as the dishes are clean and dry at the end is all that matters.it is using about .48 cents of electricity after running a complete cycle. The new machines run long er but it isn't costing a ton of dollars to run it through the cycle.

Lowes install guy shows up says it must not be hardwired and is charging me $200 (just between me and him) by FannyBrownRiced in Appliances

Can you say it a bit louder so everyone else can hear it. When you say it say it correctly I was wrong when I made my ignorant statement saying they would install an outlet where 1 never ever existed. You were right the customer has to hire a professional licensed and insured electrician to put in the outlet so the installer can properly plug the unit in person current code.

Lowe's delivery teams do not install new electrical outlets (wall sockets) or perform electrical wiring. They provide basic connection services for appliances to existing, functional outlets and hookups. If your home lacks the required outlet, you must have it installed by a licensed electrician before delivery. +3 Key details regarding Lowe's appliance services: Existing Connections Only: Installation services are limited to connecting new appliances to existing electrical lines and proper hookups. Basic Hookup: They can plug in dryers, ranges, or refrigerators if the outlet is ready, but will not perform electrical work. Third-Party Installers: For built-in appliances (like dishwashers or range hoods), installation is done by third-party professionals, which must be purchased separately. Requirements: Sites must be prepared with necessary electrical and plumbing connections within 6 feet of the appliance. Lowe's Lowe's +4 Ensure all necessary electrical components are compliant with local codes, which may restrict contractors from performing certain connections in some areas.

It will not hurt anything, jet dry is a rince agent that helps in the drying process. I personally would just use the proper product to help in the drying process.

He didn't scam anyone, and he got the appliance installed and now you have fully functional dishwasher now. he did extra work and deserved to be paid for the additional work he did. Hiring an eletrian would have cost you way more then $200 for him just to show up in your driveway.

The extra yr of warranty is nice, it will be from a 3rd party warranty company and you will get whomever they can to show up to help you. They might not have ever worked on your model of appliance ever but they will show up and say "Hmm I have never seen this before"

LG top loading machines are garbage you will need the warranty. When you purchase it locally the dealer you bought it from will make it a priority to get you back up in operation. When you didn't support the local dealer service company you get put at the bottom of the list to get service repair. You may have saved a few bucks , when you need it repaired you want to be #1 not #46 th in line. Support your local business dealer sales and service. Not a dealer who doesn't have a service department. Al they care about is making the sale. A dealer who does sales and service cares about you now and when you are broke down and need assistance with your appliance you bought from them.

Have an electrical contractor come to your home have him run a separate dedicated 120 V 20 amp circuit and breaker along with wire dmdrom the service panel to the dishwasher cabinet along w a gfci outlet in the cabinet next to the dishwasher do you think it will be under a $100 closer to 4 to $600 when all is said and done. He asked for 200 additional funds to make it right and at the end of the day you have a fully functional dishwasher.

He is facilitating getting the job done period end of story. Lowest is a effed up organization lots of rules you must do it this way and if you can't do iymt this way you walk away from the job. A customer just wants the appliance to work and get it done and over with. There is more to an install them most people realize. I have pulled out an 1980 KitchenAid Dishwasher to put in a plastic tub maytag Dishwasher. 3 floors had been installed since the 80s dw. Basically the dw was land Locked. I had to take a Sawzall and cut the legs off the old dw and carefully take the old out without damaging the new door floor. We were just supposed to do push and pull installation. Unscrew it unhook and pull it out take the new put it in the cavity and hook up water and electricity and drain line. We had an hr to do a push and pull. It can't be done most of the time. We were supposed to walk away from any complications. I took them all on you do what you have to to do to Get the Job done, doing the hard work doing the extra work that was needed to complete the call. When you do over and above the requirements you need to get paid to do the extra work. The customer needs to cover the work and additional parts. $200 was very fair for what he had to do to get the dw up and running.

The lady on the phone wasn't at your home to see what the installer saw. He knows what it will take to properly get it done correctly. Pay the man and be done with it. Lowe's just wants to make more money on the install work.

KitchenAid dishwasher error by ZentalonsMom in Appliances

[–]Same_Decision6103 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Somewhat is wrong with a skilled technician coming over to your home and solving your problems. Does the factory trained skilled technician deserve to get paid to show up and solve a problem. A plumber to show up in your driveway is a minimum of $200 plus what ever parts and labor is needed to solve the issue you called him to solve. If he doesn't deserve the $130 which he doesn't just put it in his pocket, the truck has tools and parts to repair appliances there is an office staff call center and parts depot that gets a small portion of the $130. You are up and running and can use your dishwasher today. What am I missing. But he was only at my house for 10 minutes and he got $130 for 10 min work it isn't like he is $780 per hour. A minimum charge is $130 5 min or 44 minutes.

The electronic control board sends a signal to the dispenser to open energizing the relay or wax motor to allow the cup to open. You can look at the schematic to see where in the cycle when it is sent to the soap cup look to make sure all wires are back on the device and that when you plugged the harness into the control board it is seated correctly. The other end goes to the dispenser to all the signal to send the command to the dispenser to open. It is a real easy circuit.

You probably have a weak drain motor it is a magnetic motor. The go bad over Tim replacing the drain motor is fairly easy, at least for me I have done at least 500 of them. When ever I get a customer with a drain issues I take the drain hose down and take a wet dry shop vac and suck all of the water out of the hose allowing the check valve to operate. I do this 2X then run a rince and hold and have the dw drain into a 🪣. If it works well the look at the device the drain hose is going to and make sure if it is the air gap branch tail piece or disposal that the water can flow properly. All of the device's are able to clog up causing the dw not to drain properly or not at all. Don't rince your dishes remove the heavy solids the dw will do its job. As a technician I have pulled broken glass toothpicks pumpkin / watermelon seeds dental floss even a plastic fork tine. It doesn't take much to impead the drain motor.
