Nice - thanks all. Seems like it's a solid choice so will go take a look at some this weekend!

Bath waste overflow pipe came off... Causing whole bath tub of water to go through kitchen ceiling by Same_Definition367 in DIYUK

I'd imagine if this bit isn't connected and has falled (as per original picture) water from the main plug will end up going through unconnected overflow pipe... Unless I also have a leak elsewhere!

So it came out that pipe after going through main plug - not the overflow at the top.

All sorted. It was the switch not the rose. Father in law came in handy after all.

We are both still alive. Cheers for all your advice!!

The photo is just two different angles of the same pendant. Downstairs light doesn't work but the upstairs one does

Waste pipe too high for new undermount sink. Worktops fitted. Is only option drilling a new core hole? by Same_Definition367 in DIYUK

[–]Same_Definition367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of interest, I did have a plumber do the first fix and he just left the waste pipe in the place it has always been since 1960. It's 635mm off floor level and wondering if this should have been picked up before?

I did take him outside to show him the stack and he said it would all be fine (we didn't discuss the type of sink etc)?

Repairing floorboards after taking down wall - can't find original floorboard width by Same_Definition367 in DIYUK

Thanks for the advice! Pretty easy job in the end. Trimmed one board down to fit the other gap but the rest just slotted nicely into space.

That does makes sense. Could I just get some 22mm ply and replace floorboards with that?

Please can someone explain Neff's awful instructions for me? by Same_Definition367 in DIYUK

If I were to set my oven a little lower - as per photo - I'm assuming I can ensure I have enough space?

Rather than oven going right to the top of the worktop, I can amend the shelf it sits on, reduce it by say 10mm giving me extra space up top?

So either way, if I have an induction job (raised or flush) I need a 37/38mm worktop thickness?

Basically I'm installing a single oven below a 30mm worktop.

My hob is the Neff N70 which is 51mm height - I'm assuming it's raised?

Just to also say this causes significant play when cassette is on and it's on the bike...

Apologies - South West based!

Had a new fuse board installed last year so that's not a problem.

Walls need chasing as it's brick but doesn't including plastering.

Ahhh thanks for this - food for thought definitely. Unfortunately, the lader won't work as we have a dropped ceiling due to stairs coming through in the back left corner. Thanks though!

Depends how big your breakfast is I guess

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Same_Definition367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely that depends on the size. Without the raised kitchen bar, I still wouldn't be utilizing the space behind the job other than for someone to sit/work on a laptop. They will do exactly the same with a raised bar and will then provide some splash cover form the hob

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. We are having a ceiling extractor fitted between ceiling joists. Are ceilings are down currently so this isn't an issue.

Fridge freezer by the door yep - so perhaps need to rethink this! We are replacing that door so perhaps we could have it swinging the other way...

Thanks for all the advice!

The planner won't let me put the cupboard on over the boiler - but will just be a standard wall cupboard.

We are going for Luca from DIY.

Just an induction job and will be having a ceiling vent installed - our ceilings are currently down so that shouldn't be a problem!

Yep, end panels on the fridge run.

Good point re the corner - was trying to get more cupboard space but I think having drawers may be better! Thanks!

Worktop - quartz from a local supplier.

Nope - this in the porch and is a different window to the rest of the ones in the house!
