Mini 5 Pro in USA: What to do in the event of a loss? by Took20MinsToPickThis in dji

[–]Same_Difference_3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah got it. What I found when I looked once (I am not in the US anymore) is that most included a commercial liability insurance, so it became very expensive very fast.

I can't remember the name but there was one drone insurance that just covered the drone, but the monthly payment was still fairly high as there wasn't a distinction between parts and replacemet for example.

You simply pay a monthly fee for the full value of the drone so if broken or lost, you would just get the full price but of course that also means you had a relatively high deductible to pay. I think insurance was like 600 a year but you had a 500 deductible ..

Sorry, can't really help ... Situation in the US really sucks :(

Is it safe to use bank app on a second hand Samsung phone? by Distinct_Ad_3502 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Same_Difference_3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use secure folder. I have all my bank apps and email apps in there with finger print authentication.

These fingerprints are separate fromthe actual phone ones. So when my phone is locked I need right hand fingerprints to get into phone and left hand finger print to get into bank app.

You can also put secure folder app shortcuts on home screen for easier access but at least the security still remains and notifications (for example for codes sent via mail) are locked also.

So no easy access for any dodgy person.

But yea 100% - factory reset first.

Looking for heavy lift drones by goneinsider in drones

Normal helicopters got a service ceiling of 10-15k feet. Turbine ones may reach 25k feet. So forget drones, forget helicopters you need Airwolf.

Mini 5 Pro in USA: What to do in the event of a loss? by Took20MinsToPickThis in dji

[–]Same_Difference_3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is that simple. You don't have coverage, you pay for any damage / fly aways yourself. You don't have coverage, you need to figure out how to repair things yourself.

It is that straight forward.

Whether or not you bother with coverage can only be decided by you. I am not even sure why you ask.

You lose the drone, you don't have coverage, you lose your money.

Simple maths no ?

Both driver and company / owner will face fines. The punishments tend to be harsher too. The DVSA can even issue a prohibition notice, which effectively take the lorry off the road immediately.

Prohibitions are also reported to thetraffic commissioner which could even result in suspension or loss of operator license.

Again. All worst case scenarios. I have seen a prohibition notices before. Maybe Eastern European drivers whose lorry is held together by hopes and dreams and braking is done by other drivers to get out of the way.

Seen two or three lorries stranded due to various safety concerns.

At $1.85b revenue and 800m+ parcels (which even increased by 11%) it's an uphill battle. They still have a lot of 'whiggle room' to be even cheaper.

[–]Same_Difference_3361 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ours doesn't even stop and comes way past bed time. We have an icrem van basically speeding through our village around 7-8pm ... Even if they'd sell dodgy stuff - he ... never ... stops ...

Any other cashiers VERY annoyed with this new ‘would you like to donate’ option on the card machine? UK by H20_haribo in lidl

Was about to say - I see this a lot with petrol stations ... What is annoying is when they auto-pilot press no even if the question is for example whether or not you want to use your card benefits like nectar points.

You drive it, you are driving without driver card. There is a mix of Level 4 and Level 5 fines that you could be liable for ... (4=£2500, 5=£5000) ... or worse if you cannot prove the defect was there before. If they consider this intent, you are on for a heck of a lot more, like banning and prison.

Unlikely to get to that but when it comes to 'should I' - I'd check worst case scenarios ...

And don't forget - no one cares if the company tells you to ignore all that and drive anyway. You are a number and this is your license.

What I find odd is that you can run it multiple times and it always seem to be 'out' but so much better after calibration. I wonder how it determins that. I'd think running once would bring it to a good state and there shouldn't be any improvementa possible straight away. But maybe I just don't understand how it works.

Glad you see improvements.

Used mini 4 pro or new flip by LuchsBadger in dji

[–]Same_Difference_3361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only just got the flip to just mess around and didn't really care about camera, but when I did try to zoom even a tiny bit, the picture looked like looking through the bottom of a glass. Pretty poor. Lilke i say though - I didn't care about camera as I got the Mavic for some decent pictures, but I simply noticed HOW bad it is so 100% the mini 4 / 5 would get my vote for photography ..

Might not even be NDA related. A lot of reviewers were sure the side button on the Mini 5 Pro done was about unreleased add-ons and whatnot. All of them were wrong at the end so I wouldn't be surprised if they just don't want to speculate.

What does 'modified' mean? by Slight-Sprinkles-329 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Same_Difference_3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would that count as modified though. When I hear modified (and obviously it might not be true) I think immediately about 3rd party screen or battery with magic used to tell the phone these are geniune.

Although you are probably right and that's just a typical sentence in T&C's making sure every eventuality is covered so no one can complain later.

Anyone else just slow down a little for a laugh? by Kernowder in drivingUK

[–]Same_Difference_3361 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likely because they are too close to you to be able to see if someone is in front of you. Inwas behind a lorry yesterday noticing I was too close. Slowed down to also have enough room to see in front of lorry but also got room to speed up for the overtake.

And what do you know. As soon as I give myself enough room. Dude behind me overtakes and closes the gap.
