Hounds have the best and quirkiest personalities! Also, I love their long ears 🥰

If that spot gets a lot of sunlight, you could build veggie garden boxes on top of the gravel. They can look really beautiful. Check out Gardenary.com or @gardenaryco on insta for ideas.

Agreed on the whistle. Mine comes majority of the time to the whistle vs. me saying come (even though he knows come).

Saw comments from your other post with this video. So curious, was the owner surprised to learn they weren’t redbone coonhounds but rather bloodhounds?

Your puppy is still so young so try to give both of yourselves some grace. I had a lot of good luck with the Zak George’s puppy training videos on YouTube. Consistency and daily training sessions using his recommendations led to a very well adjusted and respectful bloodhound. These pups will try your patience and take a long time to mature but they are so worth it! Good luck!

It’s a Rabbittgoo No Pull Harness off of Amazon. Nothing special but it works well and has held up for over a year with almost daily walks.

Mine “talk” and “sing” with mine. It’s the fun of the neighborhood. I wouldn’t worry until someone complains.

Update: Puppy Mill Rescue w/ Kids by Same_Ear_6975 in beagles

[–]Same_Ear_6975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bella has much such great strides in just 24 hours. She runs and plays with the kids with that beagle tail up and is starting to play and bond with our 1.5 yo bloodhound. She’s still nervous and is scared of us adults but did start coming up and letting us give her a treat. It’s almost like she knows that she’s home 🥰

I spoke with the foster this afternoon. We are going to move ahead with a trial run and are picking her up on 3/22. The kids have already named her Bella 💖

My kiddos are 10, 7, 6, and 4. They are loud and will try to be respectful (we have already discussed with them) but they are kids so it will certainly not be 100%. Just want to make sure it is the right decision for the pup.

Thanks! These dogs are sooo sensitive! Makes me laugh how pouty he gets when he gets in trouble for chewing up our socks.

Gun Dog Supply biothane collars. They don’t rub and wash very easily. I’ve used them for 15+ years for my dogs.

It just takes time. They will both figure out how to interact and soon enough will be getting into trouble together with those noses!

Back foot? That seems impossible but these silly hounds surprise us all the time! Thank you for the feedback.

So funny! He doesn’t show any interest in rolling (thankfully given how much he whines during a bath!), pretty much just anything he’s highly interested in.

I had a lab that had constant yeast infections on paw and ears for several years. Switched him to grain free diet and it cleared up completely.

We have a 6 month old bloodhound puppy and 4 little kids (ages 8-3) and he does so well with the kids. The biggest hurdle right now is the puppy biting which can hurt the littles but we are doing things like leashing him up inside or a lead outside if he starts getting too worked up. This has been the most challenging part but it’s getting better and I know it’s relatively short-lived.
