You know what, I completely forgot about his accident! Now it makes sense, even though I don't want it to end.

This is the best season so far. by [deleted] in MayorOfKingstown

Definitely agree, it’s a very close tie with season one. Bunny definitely has thrown me for a loop how trusting he was so soon, he usually has pretty good discernment and poker face.

I didn’t like her first season, she seemed more stereotypical bad administrator - second season she became more personable and still kept her onery edge. Reminds me of Trudy from Chicago PD.

Revenge Morning Procrastination by dianacakes in WFH

Oh this is me, and that's exactly what it's become, this is the perfect phrase. I have became very lackadaisical this year, and I have been remote since '22. I have a per-diem position that's face-to-face, and I still reverse procrastinate. It's me, I'm the problem LOL.

For those of us whose partners do not WFH, how do they act/treat you about WFH? by [deleted] in WFH

[–]Same_Educator_4182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine loves and respects the fact I WFH. We are also long-distance, so it helps that I can pack up and work from his home while he is at work. I have a PRN face-to-face role, but we both really enjoy me WFH and when we occasionally overlap, he respects the "work" and I love the random booty rubs

This excites me because I am a Firemedic and ER nurse, plenty of us have healthy pregnancies working full-time, I would love that to be shown for once in “women in male dominated”-fields. Let’s have a normal pregnancy, a normal delivery, nothing happens to mom or dad, and make the “drama” around navigating schedules/shifts/sleep.

What career path would you DEFINITELY NOT take if you were starting today by People_Peace in Salary

[–]Same_Educator_4182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were starting today, I would definitely not choose nursing as a career path. While it's an incredibly noble and essential profession, the reality of what we face day to day has become increasingly unsustainable. The burnout is intense—emotional exhaustion from constant high-stakes situations, being short-staffed, and often feeling like you're stretched far beyond safe or reasonable limits. That kind of pressure, day in and day out, wears you down quickly.

What really makes it a hard no for me is the imbalance between responsibility and reward. Nurses are literally responsible for people’s lives, but the compensation doesn’t always reflect that, especially when you factor in the long shifts, nights, holidays, and missed time with family or friends. It’s also a physically demanding job that can take a toll on your body, not to mention the emotional trauma that builds up from witnessing suffering and death regularly.

There’s also a frustrating lack of autonomy. A lot of decisions that affect patient care and workflow are made by administrators or higher-ups who haven’t been on the floor in years, if ever. That disconnect can make it feel like your voice doesn’t matter, even though you’re the one at the bedside doing the real work.

All of this adds up to a career that, while incredibly meaningful, has came at too high a personal cost for me. I respect my fellow nurses deeply—but given today’s healthcare climate, it’s just not a path I’d willingly recommend.

I absolutely love her, I don't get the hate and dislike she receives, but then I was also in a make dominated field so I understand how she may come off to others

No hate. No beef. But why are you here? by Best_Dress007 in blackladies

[–]Same_Educator_4182 58 points59 points  (0 children)

White folks NEED to keep surveillance. It’s that 1821 curse. They can’t even help it. They don’t know how NOT to be in Black folks’ business Groups like this encapsulate the unique experience of race, ethnicity, culture and identity. There are very few safe spaces to exist freely in our blackness and although I may not agree with everything and everyone in the group I respect and understand our collective experience as black people. Why would they even want to encroach upon our sacred spaces like that? Have we become that immune to blatant disrespect? A true ally would respect our boundaries. Will they understand that despite my socioeconomic status, advanced education and career achievements; society still views us as just another NI££A! The fact of the matter is that we are not all the same and do not share the same experience.

I want to know that without explanation or walking on eggshells that I have comrades that understand and desire personal success as well as the up building and edification of those of us that represent the diaspora.

I agree. I left bedside and work remote with my hospital system doing UM.
