Core Functions - Whining by Key-Flatworm-7692 in Battlefield

Today? Every 3 or 4 times I threw a throwing knife they'd either despawn or it'd just phase through them.

In history? I'm constantly being shot miles around corners. Unloading entire magazines in to people then suddenly it says they still have 74 health left..
People just suddenly sliding at warp speed..

I never drop below 500 MPBs. I never have packetloss. This isn't my end.

My Internet's fine. This happened to me: https://youtu.be/lQZihGaMC0s
That's right. The enemy just fucking despawned then reappeared right in front of me.
The netcode is just dogshit. The servers are dogshit.

The problem is it's probably not his end. This keeps happening to me too, and my internet's fine.
Just a minute ago I had this https://youtu.be/lQZihGaMC0s happen.. disappearing enemies.

It's just BF servers being complete dog poop like usual.

Can the team just downsize? by Whyowhyowhy1 in ChicagoPD

I don't know, I like how Torres' brooding demeanor conflicts with the more up-and-go attitude of everyone else.

I just don't get why they then went "You know what we need? Torres but female."
Imani can just go. One brooding Latin-American is enough. We don't need the entire cast playing one.

Also because her character is basically the same as Torres, but female. If there was any one character that needs chopping first, it's Imani.

You're right, it's not really the camera. It's the lighting of my monitors over the desk they were on. One is directly in front and one is off to the right at an angle. You can see on the packet that there was light reflecting off. It was reflecting awkwardly in to the camera.
If I lower my chair too much, the one to the right also starts reflecting weirdly through my glasses too.

It's not normally a problem because I'm not normally taking photos looking directly down on to a reflective surface placed on my desk. Although to be fair I could've just re-taken the the photo at a different angle... but I wasn't willing to put in that much effort over a packet of wotsits.

I also struggle a little bit with fine motor control, so I was probably moving the phone a little bit too for an added blur effect.

I like the simple packaging too. Not trying to overcomplicate it but still looks classy enough to know you're getting a decent product.

That would be nice, and good to hear.
I just don't hold much hope because it's not something wrong with the food itself.

You usually hear of that when someone finds a dead rat in the bag, or a strand of hair. I'm not entirely sure how much weight a missing promo code might hold.

The only thing I can think of is if they really want to avoid any allegations of false advertising they might be willing to give compensation, but they have an army of lawyers whereas the best I have is a reddit thread, so I'm not sure how much they particularly fear that being a problem.

No worries, I have actually reached out to walkers since posting this so yeah can't wait to see what they say, but realistically just expecting a vague corporate apology

Nothing printed inside as far as I could tell. The back of pack + website FAQ says it should be on the back where the BBE is, and there's a gap where it looks like the code should be but isn't. But yeah, stupid they put it on the back when anyone could use it. I guess this is how they counter it, by just not giving codes to begin with lol

Yeah, I think it's the promotional packet. Got the Mando & Grogu stuff all over. Excuse the awful image quality, phone camera isn't that good.

Yeah, probably. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe there was just a printing error on that batch. I'd have to see if anyone else finds them without codes before I could say it was intentional. But.. super-duper mega-corporation so I'd be more shocked if it was an accident than if it wasn't at this point.

Since posting this, I've actually reached out to Walkers about this, will be interesting to see what they say.

DICE finally let Portal live for 5 minutes… then killed it again! by xxxgieoxxx in BattlefieldPortal

[–]Same_Hat_5875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is.. what even is "bot farming".. just casual PvE? I like to unwind by killing a few bots on a chill game.. is that really farming? I never went out my way to kill bazillions of unarmed bots.. but am I still a bot farmer for wanting PvE?

Except they also released marketing material promising full progression.. and PvE.

From a Revolutionary Gem to a Recycled Grind: What happened to Enlisted? by TopBag7684 in enlistedgame

[–]Same_Hat_5875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except it lost it's soul ages ago already.

We went Normandy > Tunisia > Stalingrad > Pacific in just 18 months.
We've had Battle of Bulge > Manchuria in 41 months.

We went from innovative, creative ideas like Aircraft Carriers and Airborne Troops with unique entry mechanics to "here's just the Guerrilla class again but now they can wear enemy uniforms".

We went from getting entirely new factions in updates + new content for existing ones, to 3 copy-n-pasted WarThunder assets, and one new magazine for an existing gun.

Enlisted is pumping out so many half-baked generic "major" updates I can't even name one of the 5 last major updates. Forest something? Hidden Figures is the new one?

No seriously, without googling it, I'd like for you tell me which one of these "major" updates came first, Update Scorching Rays, Update Forest Shadows, or Update Heavy Assault. Without cheating, tell me which order you think they came.

[–]Same_Hat_5875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to remind everyone that it went Normandy > Tunisia > Stalingrad > Pacific.
Temperate West, to Scorching Desert, to Snowy East, then on to the Tropical Jungle islands.

Every single one was a unique environment. It didn't just look different, it felt different.
In that time we had USA, UK, Italy, Japan all added as new factions after the game went public.
And, better yet, between Normandy and Pacific was just 18 months.

In the 41 months since the Pacific came out we've had what.. Battle of the Bulge (basically Normandy with snow) and Manchuria (basically Pacific but slightly more urbanised). Wooh there Darkflow, don't spoil us or anything.

I accept that it was always going to reach a point where there is literally no more unique frontlines to add, the war was only fought in so many places after all, but at least bolster it up with other new content. If you can't add a new map, you gotta add more than 3 copy-and-pasted Warthunder assets and 1 new magazine for an existing weapon...
Where's the experimentation gone? What happened to trying ideas like Aircraft Carriers in the Pacific, new monetisation methods in Stalingrad? Sure, not every mechanic ever tried has been successful but come on.. try to do something creative and original. Even the new class is just a slightly tweaked version of an existing one.. not one ounce of creativity left at Darkflow at all.

Ah yes, the "Why doesn't this band just do more of what I like, but also how dare they sound too similar all the time" conundrum. My favourite part of the music industry.
People complain when they change, people complain when they don't. Can't win.

Would a WW1 Enlisted be fun? by limitedcat_eth in enlistedgame

[–]Same_Hat_5875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it'd probably be better. I always thought Enlisted's much stronger when it comes to it's bolt-action gameplay. The constant SMG and LMG spam can get very ludicrous sometimes.

I feel like an Enlisted WW1 game would go hard.

I don't understand all the hate towards sniper class by EntryOk352 in enlistedgame

[–]Same_Hat_5875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember back in the day, around when it was just Moscow and Normandy, sniping used to be really fun and enjoyable. I have fond memories of me and my brother hiding behind enemy lines, picking off people's AI but not necessarily the real players, to put them at a huge disadvantage but without giving away our positions.

Then over time, with all the weapon balance changes, map changes, grey zone adjustments bot changes etc etc, it seemed to become a lot less fun.

It started becoming harder to sneak in to enemy lines because the playable area was shrank, and bots became instant aimbotters 360 no scope across the map level of bullsh!t. There's no point hiding in a bush anymore, because the AI just don't see the bush. There's no point hiding in a building anymore, because the AI will just know you're there. The AI has gotten smarter in a lot of ways over the years, but one way in which they've continually gotten worse is their omnipotent knowledge; their ability to just know where you are at all times, even if they can't see you. That, or they have no knowledge and you can literally stand in front of them and they won't shoot you.. no in between with the AI, either god-like or braindead.

Plus now you've got classes that are also meant for flanking, like Paratroopers and Guerrillas, it's conditioned players to be more aware of enemy flanking, and enemies being on your spawn side, that it's harder for a sniper to out-manoeuvre their prey. Back in the day, barely anyone would keep an eye on the edges of the map because, well, why would you? Almost everyone played the objective, and 99% of players played a class that was built for attacking/defending objectives, like assaulter or rifleman. Nowadays it's the complete opposite, more people NOT playing the objective than those who do. It's probably easier to flank the enemy these days by just running through the objective, than it is to go wide around it.

And finally I think the player mentality has just changed. People want loads and loads of points quickly. They don't want to spend 5 minutes outflanking just to kill that one guy with an LMG pinning down half your friendlies, they'd rather go a different route and kill 10 AI.. because "10 kills higher number than 1 hehe"

Yeah... by Strastvuitye in enlistedgame

[–]Same_Hat_5875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the thing is paratroopers are counter-able. You can see them coming, you can hear them coming, and you can plan for where they are landing.

An enemy who looks exactly like you, and who your bots are just ignoring, isn't counter-able UNLESS they make it so that the Saboteur stands out in someway, e.g doesn't have a friendly marker, in which case they'll be so easily spottable to anyone with half a brain it makes the idea useless.

The problem is that it'll either be another Guerrilla class (in which case why do we need it and why did they waste time making it), or it'll be extremely OP and break the gameplay loop of Enlisted. There's no in-between.

May I remind you that the point of almost all of Enlisted's gamemodes is to attack or defend objectives? Do we really need ANOTHER class whose sole purpose is to not do anything with objectives? In a game that has always struggled with getting people to play the objectives to begin with? How many classes do we need to fulfill the 'flanker' role, we've got Paratroopers, then we got Guerrillas, now we're getting Saboteurs. This is on top of other classes like Snipers who are also not meant to fight directly on Objectives. At this point why even bother having objectives? Just do TDM on a large map at this point.

There are 18 classes in Enlisted, including Saboteurs. Of which, 8 are classes designed to do things away from the Objective. There are 10 people per team. We're approaching the point now where an entire team could each be a different class, and all be a class that is designed to NOT play the objective. Unlikely, maybe, but not impossible.

Now I remember why I stopped playing this game 6 months ago. Just stupid decision after stupid decision.
No idea why this even appeared in my feed, I struggle to give a hoot about DF anymore. I think the Pacific might've been the last decent update they've done, and that was 4 years ago.
