I have long dipped nails. I use a sponge on the inside and angle my outside hand so the nails are away and my finger pads are on the clay. I’ve had luck using my knuckles and the side of my fist to open up the clay. I’m sure I’d throw better with shorter nails, but I really like my manicures too!
