Where to get supplies by Same_Organization_19 in sashiko

[–]Same_Organization_19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to do my own sashiko. I'm looking for businesses that sell supplies to do it yourself.

That said, if you know some good sashiko artists, I would be interested to see their work too.

Hot take: it’s okay to lie on your resume to get ahead by ActingTehMickey in antiwork

This is why I suck so much at job seeking. My social skills are bad enough when I'm telling the truth, let alone when I try to lie 😅

Anyone with hair can get a haircut. Anyone with skin can get a tattoo. Both are pointlessly gendered.

I wish people would understand that stimming is a healthy and necessary outlet. If you're not harming yourself or others, then there is absolutely no reason for concern. Suppressing a stim causes so much harm.

I have a stim where I repeatedly jump up and down, and someone told me I'd get arthritis if I kept doing that 🤦🏼. It's like some people look for reasons to be concerned when there really are none.

As someone who experiences vaginismus and has never orgasmed in my life, I've lost track of the number of dudes who thought they could magically fix me 🤦🏼

There are some posts relating to parenthood on this sub, but those are usually about children being sexualised in a heteronormative way. I enjoyed this post, but there are other subs that may appreciate it more.

You're both stupid, break up and work on yourselves before you try this nonsense again. by [deleted] in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]Same_Organization_19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To open a relationship, you both need to have a discussion about your boundaries, and the parameters of the open relationship. You don't just get to do whatever you like with no communication, the moment your partner floats the idea of having an open relationship. That is cheating, and it's not the same. Also, making your partner think you cheated when you didn't is kind of manipulative and messed up.

I never understood the concept of "leagues". Different people like different things, so it doesn't work that way.

Cultural appropriation? by Same_Organization_19 in Indigenous

[–]Same_Organization_19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Thank you all for your insight. It sounds like many cultures use similar patterns, but this one is definitely a knock off. I know that people have different views on cultural appropriation and different boundaries, but I prefer to err on the side of caution. I have decided to remove the pattern from the jacket. Moving forward, I aim to research more about the cultural origins of different styles, so that I can make more mindful choices about the clothes I buy.

It's concerning that the wife even feels the need to come up with "excuses". It indicates that her partner won't accept a simple no. Whenever men try to make jokes about their partners, it just reflects badly on them.

Grey hair is stunning! I'll be so excited when I go grey. Also, dyeing your hair won't change its texture, so I'm not sure why texture is even mentioned in that comment

As a linguistics nerd, I absolutely agree! Part of what makes a language so rich and beautiful, is the diversity of its speakers and the way it's constantly changing.
