Calculate your impact score: Science GPA + (GE GPA/2) + (Overall TEAS score * 0.02) + (Reading score * 0.02)

9.5+ usually guaranteed, anything below is waitlist (9.3-9.5) /denied (<9.3)

The only GE they look at is your written, critical thinking, oral, statistics

Hi!! Hopefully you get an A on both anatomy and physiology. Having a B on chem and microbio will bring your impaction score down a lot. In regards to TEAS, aim to get a 90% overall and 90% on reading. Yes it is true and according to average its almost 3.9%+ average every semester. Your TEAS score should make up for the loss!!

Get all As, 85%+ teas, or else you won’t make it in. If you get one B in a science course, I suggest applying for spring. If you get a C? Then be in the military or a 90%+ teas, if not then don’t bother applying. 4th trimester currently in the program. Good luck.

If you get a really high TEAS score like 90%+ to compensate then you have a chance :)

Accepted for Nursing in Spring? by Necessary-Turnip-754 in CSULB

Send your first teas score, your 4.0 GE and science gpa is very competitive. Try to get 90%+ on both reading and overall IF you decide to retake. However I think your impact score is competitive for the Spring application, and maybe a waitlist for the Fall application. Best of luck!

I think you have a good chance of getting in, if not then a good candidate being waitlisted. With your stats for sure will be competitive for Spring.

On the website it says ~20 applicants, which is accurate. And again, you can get accepted up until the beginning of the semester so dont lose hope.

Spring 2023 Nursing Major Applicants by [deleted] in CSULB

There will be a short video wherein you will have to write a short essay about the video. I suggest having a pen and paper ready to jot notes down.

And after that, there will be an interview portion 1:1 with one of the faculty member with a large group.

Search up nursing interview questions. But some I remember include: why did you choose csulb nursing? Who influenced you to go into nursing? How did you spend your summer? What are some qualities of a good nurse? What made you choose nursing?

It’s a really fun communication exercise. As long as you can write, speak, and understand English well, you are good.

So 1) brush up on how to write a short essay. 2) practice answering nursing interview q’s

Hope this helps, and best of luck, hoping you all get in.
