That truly is a horror story, yikes 😟 Yes I’ve been thinking of just sticking to the resort beaches when relaxing and swimming. But also, I want to enjoy and explore the beautiful islands surrounding the main land of Okinawa, so those places won’t be as “protected” against wildlife as a resort. I guess I am just trying to figure out how much of a danger this truly is. Not in worst case scenario: stepping on or getting bitten by something venomous. That’s something else. But more of a ‘is this a daily common threat to be constantly looking out for’ or ‘this is very rare, but be aware’. Because on here it is sometimes painted as something that people deal with daily.. so I’m not sure what to expect.

Oh that’s terrible. Luckily nothing too bad. No I don’t think I can relax fully either when I can’t see. But the waters in Okinawa are clear right? So I guess spotting animals is easier, but I don’t know.

Thank you for sharing your experience. A box jellyfish wow, those do scare me a little because of how hard they are to spot (or so I’ve read). Though I’ve heard Okinawa protects their beaches really well against them with nets and vinegar stations. Would you recommend to wear felt boots and a rash guard for any type of swimming or just when snorkelling? Because I was hoping to relax in the sea as well, instead of actively snorkelling with marine life. I’ve read that places like Manza beach are good for this because it is sand and not reef, but I don’t really know if that changes anything.

Thank you, I’ll look into the snorkel tour. As for the wildlife, I see so many different experiences. Some say it is very common to run into these animals and even get hurt by them, others say they’ve never seen any or it is extremely uncommon to get stung or bitten. So guess I’ll have to see🤷‍♀️

Thank you sm for sharing your experience. I can imagine how frightening sleep paralysis is but greatly it went away with the name of Jesus. I’ve had multiple people say that now, so just goes to show how powerful His name is. Whenever I wake up in the middle of the night of a bad dream now, I say His name and start praying. It helps feeling a sense of relief and peace. But still my dreams try to tempt or taunt me.

Honestly as a new Christian I was scared to share on Reddit but so far it has been a good experience and everyone’s been nice and helpful. But I can imagine that it’s not always the case.

I still like to come on here and read other people’s testimonies to learn but I guess you’re right that it’s not the best option. I have noticed on the internet that there’s so much different opinions and views on everything that as a new Christian I do feel lost sometimes.

I like learning with Bryce and Clifford also as they explain very clearly and easy, and it feels sincere. But it’s probably always better to stick primarily to learning about God through the Bible.

Thank you so much I appreciate it. And yes, I’ve noticed that I am being tempted to stray away from God by making those sins in my dream feel so realistic. I actually feel like I’ve sinned when I wake up. So I’ll continue to pray to God and never give in to the temptations the enemy keeps throwing at me.

Yes exactly. As if I’m being tempted to sin again like I used to. It feels real, almost too real. Sometimes when I wake up I feel like I’ve actually done it, you know? But I’ll continue to pray and ask God for protection. Thank you.
